How many trophies will we win?

We have to win the CL at some point, otherwise what's the point of all these investments? I am pretty sure Pep would happily trade a PL for a CL and I think the club would too. If every season we just prioritize the league over CL, what's the point of keeping Pep? Surely he is here for winning the CL?

I have scored a ticket for tomorrow. I think it is difficult as they will be fired up. I have been to Wembley 3 times this season. I keep pinching myself but if we all stay focused and humble.....we won the league cup.

Of course I'd like us to win it, that goes without saying.

I way simply replying to your post that you'd take Pep's resignation in return for us winning the CL. Not for me. Some of the games last season - memorably Arsenal at our place, for example - were, for me, the best football I have ever seen. That 2nd goal with Sane, Aguero and Silva all playing absolutely sublime 1 and 2 touch and Arsenal chasing shadows until the beautiful lay off by Aguero, magnificent touch and finish from Silva: I'd take more seasons of that over any individual trophy, even the CL.

You’re a purist, mate. I’m a big shallow glory hunter, prostituting myself for a bit of silver ;-)

It would be interesting how the media would report a possible treble for us , but the Dippers winning the title , my bet is Klopp would get manager of the year , VVK the playe rof the year , Terence Trent Darby Young player of the year , Klanfield atmosphere of the year and Pep considered a failure because we didnt win back to back titles.

That’s why those flukey Liverpool wins hurt so much. One is coming. With all the games we’ve got we needed that 3-4 point cushion. We can stand one bad night in a Champions League game but in the league it could cost us the trophy.

I think I’d rather lose the FA Cup final than a league game now.
I know what you mean mate. The league situation is so precarious for both teams.

i cant see us winning all our remaining premiere league games, l think we'll draw one at least maybe two.

After getting to the FA Cup Final, we're now at 5 or 6% for the quadruple.

I'll be optimistic just to stress how difficult this will be

FA Cup: 70%
Premier League: 55%
Champions League: Spurs 65%, Semis 50%, Final 50%

That gets you to 6%. If anything it should really be less as if we go all the way in all comps, the league is going to get very difficult. Playing a Brighton at Wembley and recovering from it is one thing, but playing a Spurs or Juventus CL semi-final is another. Remember the impact of the Liverpool CL quarter-final last season?

In terms of spuds tonight or playing any other English club in the CL, a glance at the Premier League results should give us cause to be cheerful. With thirteen home and away ‘ties’ complete in the PL so far this season we have won 12 and drawn 1 (Newcastle) aggregate score 69 -15. The remaining 6 are tighter at half time where we are ahead in 4 and behind in 2 (CP and Leicester). Aggregate score 14 -6.

Might need to check those stats again as we lost to Newcastle :)

Would happily lose 25-0 to Spurs over both legs if it meant we won the Premier League and FA Cup this year. Would happily accept winning just the two domestic cups (lol, "just the two") if we didn't manage to beat Liverpool to the title. It's a wonderful time to be a City fan.

So, am I right in thinking according to your figures we would only do it 1 time in 20 from this position? If so, I can't agree with that but we all have differences of opinion of course.

Yes exactly.

If you disagree, which outcome do you disagree with then? My predictions are on the optimistic side precisely to demonstrate just how unlikely it is.

The only way I am looking at it is I think we would win it more than 1 in 20. I know you're doing it in a much more scientific way but I am a simple soul. I agree it is very much a long shot, just not as long a shot as you think. The only definite figures I know is the bookies gave me 200/1 in August ;-)

FA Cup is around 85%, PL around 66%.

So if we are going to win the quadruple. We will have to win the next 13 games. This being 6premier league, 1 F.A. Cup game and 5 Champions League games, although we could get through on the away goals rule in the champions league ties. To avoid the away goals rule we have to win 5 game. So to sum up, we still have to play 13 more games between now and May18th. This means that in the next 40 days we have to play a game every 3 days. I just can't see it. Please don't get me wrong I would love us to do it, but it is going to be so hard on the players, with a game nearly every 3 days.

Eh? We only have to win 3 games to win the CL, as long as we don't throw away the aggregate lead in the second leg.
