I don't even think it matters what order is the thing. That's something we take from the defending a shot again just like "was it deliberate". You can't score a goal when you've used a part of your arm in any part of scoring it, going by what Refs have said.

UEFA gave the other rule when asked about the Otamendi penalty.
And the deliberate part is about defending. The ball was hit from 27 yards away by a team mate.
 
VAR will be interpreted to suit certain clubs. Just got in and watched Sterlings goal. When the Dippers played at Southampton the other week and I think it was No Salad who got the ball in the build up they said next season the goal would have stood as the Southampton defenders had time to reset themselves. Which from what I've seen Spurs defence did the same tonight after Sergio received the unintended deflection. Yet Sterling's deserved hat trick was chalked off.

Why didn’t he get his arm out of the way? The ball came from 20-25 yards away and wasn’t hit with the same force as a shot for example, he has time to move his arm away and doesn’t.
 
All this 'deliberate' and 'unnatural position' stuff needs to be binned as its causing chaos. It should be anything that hits the hand, intentional or not, close or far etc as although I dont personally agree with that, at least its a clear definite rule - it removes the grey area.

Plus I think the officials are all corrupt f***s anyway

It was supposed to change next season but they have introduced it this season to back up the Otamendi penalty decision.
It seems they change their minds whenever they feel like it.

I’m not sure whether this rule is in place now but as of next season a goal will not be given if an attacker gains an advantage from using his hand/arm even if its unintentional.

So their goal should not have stood. However, we benefitted from a similar decision against Arsenal earlier in the season when Kun scored. Shit happens but we’ve only ourselves to blame.

Having a goalkeeper who is a distinctly average shot stopper doesn’t help at this level. Neither does your star striker missing a penalty and best CB gifting the opposition two goals.
 
Just got home from game sick as fuck. That was sickening at the end, just seen both decisions and can’t complain. We fucked it up in that first leg.

Defender would have conceded a pen for a ball hit that distance, deliberate or not.

It was NOT that goal that saw us out ... it was the overall shit defensive display that defined our season.
 
unlucky tonight,epic atmosphere and a credit to all present -fans were simply amazing. the way the game went was insane,credit to spurs but they were very lucky.

Var calls seem right,but the both were borderline dodgy...... the ball seemed to graze his forearm/elbow area,hit his hip and went in. the angle behind is the one the ref should have seen.

the goal, maybe its just me still high on emotion but i d like a close up of when exactly the pass was made. its very tight and seems more disputable, i m not saying foul play by var....would just like a clearer review of the disallowed goal.

This is the best angle I've seen. So it did hit his elbow but then he scored off his hip. So with todays rules this is a goal.
