I love the guy but enough is enough. He has to be taken out of the firing line. You can’t be poor for 3 months, in this side and continue to get picked. Sane can’t get away with being poor for 60 mins without getting benched.

I thought he was OK. With Bernardo, KDB and Gundogan all playing well as creative midfielders he tends to sink into the background a bit, but he knits stuff together and just adds some polish to things - links to attackers together or finds a way to get the ball from someone under pressure so a move carries on and we don't lose possession. He does a lot of directing people as well, you can see him constantly talking to the other players.

We were winning when he went off. Can't blame him.

In my opinion he has been the greatest player to wear our shirt. I think his time at the very top level is drawing to a close. David alone will decide when it’s time for him to move on. He must and deserves to be given the utmost respect for what he has given us over the last few years. It wouldn’t surprise me if he goes at the end of the season. If he does go there shouldn’t be a dry eye at his final game.

What I don't understand is that his decision making and passing have completely gone in relation to which age should not really be a factor.

I tried to explain this to @Shaelumstash 3 years ago. Even cerebral players who aren't lightning fast, still use their limited athletism. Once it goes, it will affect other things. No matter how little of it you originally had. That's why the "He can play for 5 more years" that was a popular here was always going to be wrong.

Anyway, thank goodness we got Bernado and Phil. So we didn't get caught with our pants down. This is how good planning should work.

I don't think he needs to leave, I just don't understand why he's been given so many minutes since xmas. Like he's been doing three matches a week and I'm completely baffled as to why. Sané or Foden (depending on where you put Bernardo) could be getting minutes but we're persisting with a mostly ineffectual David Silva. Nothing will ever take away what a player he's been for us but I don't think I'll ever be able to wrap my head around why he's played so much these last few months. Yet some people still think Gundogan''s the problem.

Shouldn't play the remainder of the games for the title as a starter. Absolutely dreadful he lost his vision, creativity and passing ability. Legend but a weak link.

Mate, no one takes a word you say seriously. Don’t bother tagging me, go and play stats somewhere.

I think claims that he is finished are premature. Earlier in the season with fresh legs he was playing very well and he has 9 goals and 8 assists so far which isn't bad by any means. I just think we are overusing him. This is why we should have been giving Foden more game time so he would be further along in his development and could have played more games giving Silva a rest.

I think this nails it. perhaps its time to swap or begin to swap roles with Foden.
