I think they would struggle to flog both for £80m.
Which top club needs a new keeper? We only ever hear of Real interested in the keeoer, no one else. So why offer stupid money if no one else us interested (or he doesnt want to go anywhere else)? And if they want to get rid then they will have to take what is on offer.
Pogba - what club would pay stupid amounts (United excepted) for a player who turns it on once every 6 games (and usually against relegation fodder).
He will be like Adebayor was at City.... Will go out on loan for x amount each season and the rags will pay half of his wages until the contract runs out.

I can see De Gea going to PSG as Buffon has got to be 40 if he's a day. Real Madrid will be out of the question for him as they have just bought Courtauis(not sure why mind) and already have Navas

Regards Pogba, someone will take him as he is still young, a world cup winner etc and I imagine he and his agent will put his shit time at United down to poor management, and someone will believe them. Maybe PSG again

It would probably help if Ferguson and Charlton buggered off,

Been saying precisely this for years. The Pisscan wields too much power at the swamp, always has done. It was he who told the board to appoint Gollum. Imagine that: leaving a job and telling the company who they should employ to replace you? And I'm prepared to bet no transfers are approved without his permission, either.
And the Ticket Tout has been leeching off that club since he hung his boots up. A so-called 'ambassador' of the club - a meaningless title given to him to appease the lemmings. Gets paid to go on all the club tours, stays in 5 star hotels, enjoys all the expensive luxuries, probably a suite in the director's box...he's the only human being to have rigorous mortis whilst he's still alive.

As others have said, if the club swept away the cobwebs of yesteryear, binned all the hangers-on like Pisscan and Ticket Tout, and started afresh, they'd be in a far better position than they are right now.

The appointment of “Ole” and Phelan point to the opposite. They never learn..... thank fuck.

United are trapped by their own folie de grandeur. They need to forget all the shit like "biggest club in the world" and "United way" and go away for two or three years - in effect - not bothering about league position or winning owt, just focusing completely on rebuilding the club from top to bottom. They have got the financial resources, and they have (probably) got some decent lads in the youth team. They need a Director of Football for sure, but that's just a start. The whole set-up in rotten and needs reconstruction. It would probably help if Ferguson and Charlton buggered off, or at least took the Trappist approach for a bit.

The problem is the fans - and quite likely the owners - would not like the consequences of this, because for 3-5 years they would not be able the play the Big I Am and would in effect be settling for a degree of short-term mediocrity.

The other snag is finding the people (Manager and background staff) to execute the rebuild. Very, very tough. Because the guys with the right qualities are few and far between.

For the rags, this would not be possible. They have to stay relevant because that is where their money comes from, TV, advertising, sponsorship etc. This income only continues if they keep there or there about hence the quick fix every year.

United had so much success for so long they thought it would never end. You don't have much incentive to change a successful system. Ferguson held it all together, getting in someone to directly replace him and succeed was virtually impossible.

The same thing happened after Busby. In fact what we are seeing is practically a re-run. It took years for United to find their way after Busby, and involved a relegation. Eventually they found Ferguson, but he was close to the sack at one point. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

He saved himself winning the Fa cup at the time, they sack managers for winning that in the modern day rag central.

I’d guess this post is the only one ever made on Bluemoon that includes the phrase, Folie de Grandeur.

Is so, Chapeau.

Summer is going to be really funny. The rags trying to get players to play for them. Who, in their right mind if you had other options, would go to a team who are 6th, with a manager with absolutely no pedigree and looking like they have no idea how to improve? We could at least say to players, look at what we are building and you could be part of that. They will have nothing.

A Mutly giggle he he he he.

The MEN wading in.... Not one starting player getting more than 1/10 with a few getting 0.

Their press pass being pulled as I type....

The thing is, everyone could see it was only a matter of time before teams gave them a battering.
They’ve been on the edge of a cliff all season. Had a little lift when the Norse God, arrived.
Who did they play for his first 9 matches, Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Tottenham (fair play I’ll give credit) Brighton
Burnley, Leicester, Fulham.
As that C##t Ince said, “anyone could have done the same”
They have rode their luck for too long, and have been given false praise, by all those with their heads up their arse!
A full scale clear out is needed, to be ripped apart from top to bottom.

Thankfully they don’t have the balls for what is needed!

They were only saved from a mauling at the hands of Spurs by the alpaca having one of the best games of his life. On another day, the Harry Kane team would have had five or six.

I think a lot of the fans have reconciled themselves to it, but the owners have neither the wherewithal, patience, inclination, nor (most likely) the resources to follow that path, escpecially given that it’s not guaranteed to work.

The Glazers are utterly fucking clueless. Long may their reign of idiocy continue.

Totally fucking clueless, is a nice way to put it.
As owners, they’ve actually supported their managers financially, but with a scattergun approach.
Sometimes it’s felt like anyone we’ve been linked to, they go out and get them, without a thought of what they really need.
These next few years will be interesting!

the funny thing is they may finish 6th but sky and BT would have shown more of their games than anybody else ??? and they will make more money from being 6th than liverpool or man city ??? so why do they have to be winners when they have every corner covered with modern football about making more money than the rest
Because they won’t make more money than City or Liverpool when prize money is added into it.

Rumours are that Courtois is to be offloaded this summer.

Spot on - I kept getting stick for being a Bitter Bertie for pointing out win after win that it was relegation fodder (Spurs apart) they were playing.
Burnley was scraping a draw with 2 down 5 mins to go and a penalty to get them back into it and there were another few lucky late winners to paper over the cracks. 2 penalties to defeat West Ham last week.... Yet Ole is bringing back the "United Way" as the media drop their trousers and bend over when asked....
