At home? As in Turd Moor? Well that's got to be wrong as last season Chelsea beat them 4-0.. and as others have pointed out, this is only their 5th year up in the PL since promotion.

The article says the "Clarets have beaten reigning champions in each of their last four top flight seasons" It doesn't mention at home and they beat Chelsea away last season.

If you want the premier to improve throughout Managers like Dyche should be called out for being prehistoric Dinosaurs with there time wasting diving cheating throughout the whole game.

The stat is that Burnley have beaten the champions (so once in a season) for the last four seasons. Given how teams have defended the league for the last four seasons, though, it's not exactly as impressive as it reads on paper.

We know what they'll do. pack their box, fall to the floor any time they are in our half and attempt to win corners.

We just have to manage that set piece threat and open them up ourselves.

Presuming Mendy, De Bruyne and Fernandinho won't be available for this. In which case, I'd go:

Ederson
Walker
Kompany
Laporte
Zinchenko
Gundogan
D Silva
B Silva
Sane
Sterling
Aguero

Mendy's crossing would be very welcome in this one.

We have struggled at Turf moor for the reasons I am nervous about this game: they have a tiny pitch and play big high balls, bypassing the midfield. It causes everyone problems if they don’t get a few goals ahead. This will be harder than the United game. This is the decider I think.
I think their pitch is exactly the same size as ours - it the stadium that is smaller and so gives the optical illusion that the pitch is smaller when it isn't. Bit like everyone saying the Wembley pitch is huge when it is the same length as ours and one metre wider

Is anyone getting any injury updates on the grapevine? KDB/Ferna look set to be gone for the season by all accounts but Stones, Mendy? Also, Gundo didnt look great when he came off on Friday....

Thought Fern was ok?! Pep should clear up injuries at 1.30pm with press. Sounds like KDB may make Leic game from what i have heard.

'By all accounts'

Can you add a bit more please?

before anyone gets too fretful about the "dangers" of burnley. lets put ourselves in their shoes for a moment. they are playing a winning machine with quality in every position, with the ability to out-think them and out play them, who can break fast, break down teams that defend in numbers and deep, can play out from the press, regain possession and keep possession of the ball, get physical when needed, have some 'handy' players who let you know they are there (when needed), and are the reigning champions with a record points haul and goal tally from players in every outfield position.

compared to burnley, who have a pie shop on the corner outside the ground.

im confident of a win, you should be too!!

Headline today: "Klopp says City can slip up at Burnley". Of course they can, any club can.

But we never hear Pep publicly commenting on other clubs' potential failures. After what the Norwegian loser said the other day about us, it poses the question: which of these three managers has class, and which two don't? Pep plays down our chances, as he should, and concentrates on his own plans.

I suggest Klopp concentrates on his own banana skins at the barcodes and wolves at home, I know who id rather be playing .... The dippers will murder Huddersfield tonight though, could be 6-0+

After Wednesday night City will be buzzing and I expect a comfortable win at Burnley without being complacent about them.... If we stay focused we've got this in the bag ...

And then there was manchini and his mind games of conceding the title in pressers, got the better of the most experienced and successful manager with his tactics.

This on the other hand will only make pep and players go even harder.

Another tough game and another must win match. A different challenge to those we have faced recently. Burnley are safe so pressure is off and they might have downed tools. Let us hope so! Would love to be 3 up by half time for the heart rate!

Seriously hope all this comes back to haunt the gurning dickhead he’s talking as if they’ve already won there three games what a wanker

Pass them off the park. They’re safe and planning holidays hopefully

It's obviously a tough game, but the way some Liverpool fans and even some in the media are talking about it being tougher than away at United is laughably weird. Of course it isn't, it's not even close to being as tough. Which doesn't mean for a second that City can't get turned over.
