Champions League Semi Finals 30th April/1st May

Don't know what was worse .......Spurs performance or Jermaine Jenas co commentating

He talks a right pile of shit doesn’t he and his constant references to ‘we’ and ‘us’ are a bit annoying. Bad as he is he’s a thousand times better than ’i hate the disabled’ Hoddle.

We werent good enough to get past the quarters

I would dispute that. Spurs got a tad lucky against us on several counts. In the main VAR not getting it right being the main one. Also a rare double brain fart by Pep in the team selection for the first leg. Equally his refusal to say something along the lines of "No Sergio as fucking amazing as you are, you are shite at taking penalties and you are not taking them".

My feelings watching that tonight were of being mildly frustrated because though Ajax do look a very decent side my impression is that we are considerably better, and I expect Barca will beat them comfortably in the final. Infact were the unthinkable to happen and Liverpool somehow manage to go through so would they...god forbid. I actually think Spurs would have got the better of them had Kane and Son been fit.

I do wonder if Ajax might also live to regret not finishing them off tonight as well, its a mountain for them now as Ajax got the away goal the vital thing we failed to do and is often the deciding factor in these ties. No doubt Ajax are good and knocking Real Madrid and Juventus out takes some doing but Real this season have not been especially good and I think Juventus are slightly over rated and have been bigged up considerably having got Ronaldo there.

Does anyone else think deli Ali is just an average player!! Don’t get the hype over him
Always has been in my eyes. At his best he is "ok" because even his great assists often cover a general lack of consistency over 90mins all to often. Similar to kane in many ways. The wafer thin squad they have gets amplified at this stage of the season or at least exposed a bit.

That’s hard to take. Waste of a semi spot for Tottenham due to that opening 20 mins... I get the personnel issues but Poch’s approach was terrible. Wanyama has played about 2 hours football in 2 seasons and he was left as the sole midfielder to contend with 3 players playing between the lines who then had it against 3 Tottenham centrebacks faced up narrow. Weird as to my mind Ajax play similar to us although with less talented personnel. Not sure why Sisoko didn’t start.. he was great when he came on and brought balance.. he looked fit and if he was remotely fit then why not start him? What other options did they have and what else were they saving him for this season. Bizarre. Sadly I don’t think the winner of this years CL comes from this tie... which sucks big time. Can’t have the dippers winning nowt.

A lot of frustration that Spurs and not us are in the semi. But keep in mind, that means we would have played at Burnley on Sat in diabolical weather. We might have dropped points.

I think all's for the best. Let's win the league, watch the scousers squirm and cry over the summer, then go again next season for the league/CL double.

I'll tell no lie. I'm not certain we would have beaten these.

Nah we would have beaten them... once Poch realised his system error they looked blunt. If only he had set up like that against us... I would fancy Silva, Bernardo and Sterling playing between the lines vs Wanyama to score 3 goals in that opening 20 mins.. it was suicidal.. unfortunately Poch would not be silly enough to do that against us.... just Ajax.
