I know we don’t like it but The NY Times is not just going to publish something without credible sources involved.
Actually it should read 1 year MINIMUM. Might be more so it really reads.
Also, may not be next season so the author claims but start 20/21.
Also addressed the point why they don’t care how the emails were obtained, the same exact reasons I’ve thought we’d be punished no matter what “legal” arguments are made.
I know we don’t like it but a court battle I suspect will further drag the club’s reputation through the mud as we are widely seen as immoral by many average fans. Fair or not, it is a tool that can be used to hurt the club's growth and is what they will use to get us to submit.
I hate to make the comparison but legal racial segregation in the USA was not ended over legal reasoning. It was constitutionally and legally sound. It was ended based on “moral” grounds.
Whilst other clubs are guilty in various forms of “rigging” FFP none have yet been caught like we were and the moral police that are loud as hell won’t let us go unless something is “done” and we are made an example of.
Are all of us also against whistleblowers? The man who stole USA documents to show illegal activities by the US government (bombings) in Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia. Or Snowden exposing illegal spying by governments of their people. 100% illegal. Do we.all think they were wrong? I'm just asking.
UEFA are worried about their reputation if we escape over legal basis. I don't think they can affordnto back down. We already have a reputation problem and that is where they will go for us. FA might be put under pressure as well for points deduction, but I doubt that one.
