Only really worth boycotting this if the prices are ridiculous. They could announce tickets for £5, in which case what would be the point of using that game to protest? I like the charity shield. Just means we get to start the season a week before everyone else. Better than watching a friendly in China at 8am.

I am not sure boycotting a game where at leat some of the proceeds go to community projects would be reported fairly by our wonderful, unbiased media.

No idea if this is a dig but I was five at the time so forgive me for not attending

The context make it look tasty even if it s a nothing trophy , city can make it 4 ( domestic quadruple ) and we also can make it one of 4 among the CL , the European super cup and Clubs World cup , thats an International quadruple ( European double + clubs world cup + Community shield) Well thats not as good as the real one , but still good enough to take when we haven t won nothing since Mickey mouse cup in 2012 , you heard it here first !
