The NYT reporters are being purposefully disingenuous.

If the misleading as per Football Leaks is through the audited financials of City or the entities sponsoring City, then by definition the audited financials are “irregular” and, as I wrote before, UEFA is basically accusing City or City sponsors of book-cooking by extension.

No company in ANY BUSINESS is going to stand for that if their financials are above board. They will fight such an accusation with everything they’ve got.

Investigatory chamber/committee = the group of 8. Limited punishment powers (max is €100k fine according to David Conn)

Adjudicatory chamber = committee who can decide on heavier punishments.

All that's happened here is the process - the investigators have investigated, and passed it on. A bit like police investigating and passing to the CPS for a decision on any charges or action.

For all we know this could be the first step in a UEFA clime down. UEFA will know they are fucked but they’ll wriggle for a while but their lawyers will know the leak to the NYT has finished any semblance of a case they may have tried to concoct. We have gone for the jugular again today - it’s the lack of process that will see us see this off.
