It's Quiet 32 - enter at own risk

Surely Maguire is a smokescreen or just his agent talking up a fee. As for Tarkowski, I don't think he is quite the level we want, in fact he isn't even at Maguire's level. Could be a good replacement for Maguire if he goes to the rags but Tarkowski is a poor man's Mick McCarthy

When I've seen Maguire play I've been very impressed. Composed on the ball, great passer, and commanding in the air. And for someone so big he's no slouch.

In our games against Leicester this season we only managed one at theirs, and it took Vincent's wonder strike to score at the Etihad.

Laporte I feel is so good with both feet he could play on the right side if needed.

Really can't understand the big issue with Maguire. If we could get him for a reasonable price he'd be a good signing, he's good on the ball as shown in the game against us and numerous times for England, bearing in mind England's defence play a similar way to ours in terms of playing out from the back. Also he's as good as anyone in the air defensively and offensively which would give us something extra from the massive amounts of corners we get and rarely score. I agree with the fact that 70m would be much too much but surely if we could get him for around the 50m mark he would be a good signing in todays market.

Oh FFS, you’re worst than @LucahArchie10.

James Tarkowski is another fucking tugboat.

What do you people not understand? Seriously, do you ever watch us? What the fuck do you think either of Maguire or Tarkowski could add to our team/squad? Do you understand the basic concept of how we defend?
Maguire would probably be around 70m, we play with a high line and Maguire is one of the slowest defenders in the world. Demichelis would probably beat him in a race. Tarkowski could be a cheap, decent backup. English and decent at playing out from the back. But of course there’s loads of players I would have instead of Maguire and Tarkowski

maguire isn't slow,is very good on the ball, and when playing up against a big forward would win most of the duals, you don't have to be world class to come to city you have to fit into our system and do a job when asked,we have 2 very good cbs in stones and LaPorte when we need controlled passing from the back,we have two very good physical cbs in vinny and ota, that is the way we build the squad, get people who can do a specific job when needed ,LaPorte is our new vinny he will be the main man, tough strong and imo will be a great leader when the time is right,of course I would love de ligt he looks like a world beater, but this isn't fifa19 and we cant go out and buy who we want.

our management will have been working on who we need and want, trust them to know what we need and who will be able to do the job,if its maguire then its maguire.

You watched his one good game then ? ;-) Seriously, I think he's gone downhill, this season.
I know he had an injury that has most probably held him back, but surely we can find a lot better.

Maguire would be as expensive and underwhelming signing as Stones has been. I hope the rumours are fake like Bruno Fernandes ones and we're just toying with the rags, driving up his price. If City feel the need to fill the homegrown quota and replace Delph, get some English LB or RB.

Stones has been underwhelming?

Stonesy has been class since he came, underwhelming signing he isn't by a long shot.

Think some people have short memories. Stones has been a great signing but hampered by niggling injuries and personal issues, he's still only 24 as well can see him and Laporte being a top class CB pairing for years to come.

I think to back @Andrew___K up a little, we certainly don’t need another stones in our squad, that indeed would be underwhelming, regardless of how good he is. We will be lacking a little grit when VK and potentially Otamendi go. One thing we should all agree on is that Stones can still be got at mentally, hopefully that improves, however we shouldn’t run the risk going into a new season with ‘like for like’...:

there has been a drop off in stones level mainly due to injuries and from what i have read - personal issues

hopefully that would be sorted out in the coming season

I don't see the point of going for Maguire unless Otamendi leaves. At this moment we don't need a left sided centre back.

Do you think Maguire would be another Stones ? I see him as much more physical especially when it comes to aerial duels and against teams such as Burnley who just play long ball then fight for the second ball he could be quite useful.
