Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

A bit of a buffoon at times but no doubting he's very popular with the electorate in general. Swept aside all to get voted as Major of London's twice. Not sure hes the right candidate as PM. But the choice is limited to say the least. Such poor politicians we have these days.
Used to be popular but most people have now sussed him out to be an opportunistic **** with no real position on anything. There’s still quite a few that haven’t yet realised this.

simple fact is he is now popular with people who don't "know" him - his constituency majority has fallen, he is not liked by most of the PCP and his morals are open to question. His few supporters in the PCP think he can somehow pull the party together as do those 100k party members. Everybody I know - including Tory voters and one party member think he is a duplicitous man who plays the clown takes nothing seriously and at 54 still thinks he can shag anything and will try to. His major problem is if he ascends to the top job all his past will be brought up against him, that Mair "nasty piece of work" will be one of many examples of how he cannot be trusted - he doesn't do detail either so his own performance in office will be shown up and he will be a disaster for the country and the Tory party as PM. I am looking forward to him finishing the sterling work started by agent May in destroying the Tory Party

Is the woman locked up in Iran still there thanks to his ham-fisted intervention?

I think she is there because she thought she could teach and promote free journalism in a dictorial police state with impunity. Unsurprisingly she was wrong. No matter how bad you/we feel for her she is infact largely the architect of her own downfall.

That might well be the case.
However it is not the Foreign Secretary’s job to incompetently give the Iranians an excuse to keep her locked up longer than they would have otherwise.

As far back as I am remember Tory leadership elections are never win by the favourite, this latest development with Boris leads me to think this will continue to be the case here.
