Neymar

RIP Neymar.
The guy can't catch a break with all those injuries.

Finally, i would prefer if you dived when they try to make a contact. This whole strategy of not diving is not working out for you buddy...

Dani has already, correctly, alluded to this but Neymar will never reach his potential until he takes his job more professionally. For what it's worth, I do not believe he ever will owing to his varied interests away from the pitch. So, yes, he will get injured or petulant and generally show flashes of his genius but his peak is behind him

Neymar is injured again to his right foot (ankle this time).

Was just joking around with the diving critics that are inherently associated with Neymar because against Strasbourg this year, he refused to go down and got his second metatarsal injury.

And here again, he didn't just fall and try to keep going and twisted his ankle.

Edit: and omg, listen to this commentary from the english pundits : Strasbourg is not there to be bullied ! Isn't Neymar the one bullied on the video ? Not funny how technical players are villified nowadays but trying to kick them is trying not to be bullied...

What interests away from the pitch? This is a genuine question? Instagram? If that's it we already have one of those in the team and don't really need another.

He's not underrated, if he played for us, they would all love him to bits. It's easy to hate someone as ****ish as him while he is playing for other club and there is zero chance to have him at ours. Fans talking high moral bollocks and that stuff.

Same thing as with Ronaldo. People were talking nonsense about him being past his best, a self-serving ****, not team player and bad for morale, blah-blah, before he won 4 champion leagues in 5 seasons. If he played like that in their team, they would tattoo him in full size on their bodies.

Not rating my arse.

Players have to earn fan's love, in my eyes, and talent doesn't get you there alone. I can appreciate his insane ability but there's no chance I'd ever look at him as fondly as Zabaleta, Kompany, David Silva etc. As far as I'm concerned, these are role models in every sense of the word and it's their commitment that makes them the legends they are.

Neymar doesn't have that. He's a little bitch and I hope he never joins my club.

It's a general observation, he's very distracted by interests outside of football and not least of which is a mega marketing company he has. Like few footballers, he actually generates more revenue off the pitch than he does on it. And as a brand, he jetsets around the world during the season for promotional & marketing events from poker to anything with major media coverage.

What he should be doing, if being the best is really an ambition for him, is being dedicated to the sport and improving his overall game - meanwhile his appearances & numbers continue to dwindle. Even when you look at his NT performances, his peak in terms of performances & being a protagonist was years ago. I saw this dip in his last days at Barcelona and was openly hoping he'd be transferred.

He'll be 28 next season and should be in the prime of his career but it has stalled and no question that the combination of his club/league choice & lack of football focus has left him a player, IMHO, that will never reach his full potential. Lacks maturity or dedication to course correct at this stage but I'd like to see him really apply himself as he has a load of talent

Why does his rape allegation seem like a setup? I mean the girl involved has posted a video of her saying he hit her yesterday and so she was hitting him back... That's not actual evidence of rape or violent intent is it? Also, where did this recording come from? Why is she going into his room and videoing her conversations with him?

Dont get me wrong, I dislike Neymar but something doesnt feel right in this one. She clearly went there for sex. I dont know, but wtf happened to the requirement of evidence nowadays.. Seems all one has to do is claim it and it's case closed.

Apologies if asking this qwuestion upsets anyone, but what's your opinion

Well, before his two big injuries, he was absolutely stratospheric with PSG. All those talks about poker and cie are surfacing when he is injured. And i don't see why he shouldn't play poker or attend his marketing stuff when not able to play football.
Just recently, Rakitic attended an event at Sevilla right after being eliminated by Liverpool and he was all smiles. Players are not robots whose all life is only about playing football.
When you hear about some people in the know, there are a lot of footballers partying, using drugs, cheating on their partner, etc. but few have Neymar celebrity status. So, when Neymar does something, everyone and their mother know about it.
Even in Barcelona, Neymar was known for being an addict to video games (Counter Strike, PUBG) and playing poker (he has an official poker brand contract).

His first injury on his metatarsal can't be put on his lifestyle. He was hit hard on his foot. It is like saying his injury against Colombia was due to his lifestyle (he said he feared he could never walk again). The problem is that he wants to play for his nation so bad that he rushed his comeback and was not 100% fit for the World Cup. And he suffered the same injury on the same bone with PSG later on. Often, he puts priority for his country over PSG.

This right foot is really becoming a problem.

The video was filmed by the woman. It was a set up, she confirmed it herself.
What she says is that she premeditated that video to catch Neymar admitting himself of the crime she accuses him of.

The only bit of video is not really pleading on her favour as she seems crazy. Nothing can be concluded before a thorough investigation has been done and Neymar should enjoy the presumption of innocence until his guilt has been proven.
If he is guilty, he should go to jail like anyone else accused of that crime, otherwise she should go to jail for calumny.

Personnally, i don't believe her. Between the text messages, the video, what her ex lawyers said, she has lost a lot of credibility. But something happened to make her that angry. Apart from the part she said he attacked her, she said he left her alone the day before. Feelings hurt ?

N'importe quoi

Stratospheric was at Barcelona, most of his stats are down from minutes to passing percentages, turnovers, poor touches etc.

Video games is not the issue, most footballers are playing - even Messi but how often is he injured, how often is he giving his all from training to taking care of his body. Even Rakitic has shown terrific dedication & focus. There's a reason why Dani Alves has said what he has said but going to the Boys from Brasil in Paris is no way to focus on your career but rather party. A dedicated talent of his level is obsessed with being the best and putting in the work to get there, no one says that about Neymar but this isn't exactly news. His reputation proceeded him back to Santos. I never believed he'd be a lifer at Barcelona and the whole reason why some were already pushing for his sale before it happened was because his lack of focus & dedication was already apparent - the regular birthdays with his sister during the season the famous example

Big reason why he is regularly linked away from PSG and why he will continue to be - his window to hit the greatest heights is shrinking and there is no indication he will course correct but hey he sells plenty of merchandise and gives the Qataris nice exposure

I'll stop you right here and not evne read the following after this premise.

Since you don't watch PSG games, i'd advise you to look at his stats rating :

https://www.whoscored.com/Players/50835/History/Neymar

All his stats have gone up while being at PSG, even in the UCL if you want to dismiss them as being done in Ligue 1. The only problem of Neymar is that he is injured when CL knockouts start and it is the only place casual will watch PSG play and see Neymar perform, or give him credit for.
