João Félix

Surely if we buy this lad then those money grabbing tight arses at Bayern will know we need to sell sane and pull our pants down over the price?

Not really. Sane can stay and we still buy this lad. We probably don't need him this year but with a number of players coming towards the end of their time at City and a potential transfer ban next season, it would be a good move to sign him and loan him back for a year.

If our only squad places left are for 'homegrown' players, we will get arsefucked on the price for them.

Best just getting on with things quietly, whatever we do.
Is that right ? I thought with Kompany leaving we have a squad place for non-HG available ? Also, doesn't it depend on what we do with Bravo ?

I was replying to the idea that we 'get them signed up' then just leave a homegrown place to fill.

I don't think HG is going to be a problem at all.

Think of it this way, if Rodri replaces Kompany, all of our other business is like for like (CB for Nico, Cancelo for Danilo) then we'd have exactly the same squad as this year, except with an extra defensive midfielder replacing a player who was injured most of the season.

If Felix replaces Bravo, we're essentially +1 as Bravo didn't feature at all last season, and we've got yet another midfielder/forward.

And if Delph leaves...do we care? His game time was limited to when Zinchenko+Mendy were injured and in that case we'd use Fernandinho.

We could fill his time with an academy lad or take a punt on an english Zinchenko type player, low fee, low risk, high potential if it works out.

Tweets all in my head man, nah just a few things floating around Twitter.

I seen the Portugal V Switzerland game and although only seen him for the 70 minutes he was on nothing screamed out 100 million euros worth of player.

:-)

I agree, that game and a few you tube clips aside,i haven't seen a lot of him.....but what i have has left me scratching my head at the valuation.

While I agree he didnt look amazing in the ine game for Portugal...how many games has an in his prime Aguero looked like our Aguero for Argentina? You dont scout based off of national team games. Much less a 19 year olds first national team game.

Stuart Brennan seems to think we are only in the market for two players and none of them being attacking players.

Is City's interest in Felix genuine? I am not so sure. I feel as if Portuguese press are using our name to bump the price up like they did with Bruno Fernandes.

This one has Atletico Madrid written all over it following the sale of Griezmann. Get your money on it chaps.

Depends if they go for Maguire.

I have never thought we would spend the money quoted.

Me neither, we haven't done it before and we aren't going to start now on a young player from the Portuguese league who has only had one season at the top level.

We will only aim to sign a CB and CM this summer. We will only sign a full back if Danilo leaves. I can't see us bringing in anyone else to be honest.

I could imagine us signing Felix for half the money with another year there included, but if he was 100 mil kid, Barca & Real Madrid would have already tapped him up imo.

Would not pay to much attention to what Brennan thinks one way or another. Forward players will be on the radar if Sane is sold also
if we fear a transfer ban as an insurance policy. Clearly a CB and DM are more or less a priority so he is probably right about that much.
