I think for a lot of people these days the term "correct valuation" has gone out the window. It really comes down to what you are prepared to pay and how much you need to buy.
Is Maguire the best CB in the league/world NO, but we need a replacement for Vinny and it may come down to picking him and paying the full amount. Will he be worth what we pay probably not but there may be no other realistic alternative on offer and we are left with little choice. The thing is that unlike the old days we can usually afford the asking price no matter what crazy figure is quoted and many are OK with this it seems.

Don’t understand this, Laporte is a left sided CB, so is Maguire! we need a right footed CB to come in and play along side Laporte IMO, We need that balance and surely Pep knows that, signing Maguire doesn’t make sense and tbh I think we’re using this Maguire transfer as a distraction to sign a Gem..Maguire isn’t good enough and would be a travesty if he comes especially for that sort of money being branded about. Hope I’m right and we don’t sign Maguire as he isn’t good enough if we wanna keep improving. Would rather pay 100 million for De Ligt

I don’t know why people are confused by our transfer strategy. We do the same thing every year. We do a deal with a player and try and force a price with a club. If the player is willing to go elsewhere at a higher price we walk away. The only exception is where a buyout clause exists like Laporte.

If Maguire wants to come to us and no one else we’ll try and put pressure on Leicester to reduce the price. If he’s willing to go to united he’ll probably end up there as they’ll pay any price.

He plays on the left side for Leicester but Maguire is right footed.

With the few being quoted in the media, i am happy if city backs of and let united make another expensive signing. He is good but no where near 90M, i would rather keep otemendi and induct Garcia in first team squad.
