FIFA Women's WC France 2019

Best game I've seen so far, Brazil faded badly after half time, but Australia played very well.

VAR isn't improving much though, its just as controversial with it as without, but I thought within the current rules they got them all right, whether the rules are right is another matter, and VAR will force rule changes.

Formiga picking up the yellow and going off (along with Marta fading and being subbed) completely changed the game.

Brazil were struggling to cope with Australia’s midfield afterward and the Aussies ran riot as a consequence.
 
South Africa v China is a decent game too, China the better team 1-0 at half time, but a real contrast. Its a bit like a team of girls against a team of blokes, SA are very quick though, and have had a few breaks, but are bit naive, and whilst quite skilful, are prone to making stupid passes, China have dominated though and deserve to be in front.

I expected the teams to be more adventurous than they have been, so far too many teams are trying to get a draw, I understand you don't want to lose an early game in a 3 game league (we see the same in mens tournaments), but some of the better countries could have been more attack minded for me. I also think some of the finishing has been poor, there's plenty of skill on show, but the final pass or shot seems to be lacking a bit.

Agree with all of those points ,and tbh, I didn't expect anything else.

It is the World cup though ,and it's the vibe that I'm enjoying rather than the standard of football on display.

This will very much become the norm now, I think - the LotG will be constantly rewritten to accommodate much of the shite that VAR spews out!
