Without checking I think it was 2-1 with Peter Reid scoring the winner at Villa.

Also the kit which Gary Megson scored the winner in at Oldham in his debut in the 88-89 promotion campaign.

We couldn’t have played at Villa in this given their home colours. The game you’re thinking of was 2-1. Mark Ward and Peter Reid. We wore blue shirts, maroon shorts and socks.

We don't wear a maroon kit away at villa defeats the object. The shorts often got worn if another team had white shorts.

Yes - still got mine, too. Was my favourite shirt and I used to wear it everywhere / on holiday, etc ... back in the days when you got looks from passers-by that were a mixture of surprise / uncertainty / sympathy, when wearing a City shirt.
