As much as I dislike United I'd rather have them challenging us in Liverpool's position as nearest threat to us retaining the title. If and probably when Liverpool do win the league the media wankfest and cocky Scouse bragging is gonna be fuckin' unbearable. I was never happy to see the rags win anything but they're the lesser of the two evils for me.

Bought from Crewe at 18 years of age for a fee that could have risen to £6m
Scored 8 minutes into his debut and was lorded as the new Bryan Robson
One year later he was loaned out, never to return to the swamp
Ferguson went a bit further in his autobiography declaring that he would one day captain England .

There is an amusing thread on Redcafe that claims Pogba is by far the biggest star in the League. What they mean, apparently, is he has more plastics following him on social media than anyone else. It's all about image.

In football terms, there must be 20-30 players who are bigger stars. There are about 101 I would sooner have at City.

If twitter had a ‘Never Follow’ button, I would gladly click it as far as Pogba’s account is concerned.

I remember Alan ball saying buster philips would be the first 10 million pound Player?? It happens:)

I remember watching his debut, and coming away thinking that he was slow, weak, and totally unconvincing, but after all we got Alan Ball.

Phillips was born in Exeter and began his football career as a trainee with his local side Exeter City, turning professional in July 1994. He soon attracted the attention of higher division clubs and moved to Manchester City in November 1995 for a fee of £500,000. This remained Exeter's record sale until they sold Matt Grimes for around £1.75 million in 2015.[1] Upon signing Phillips, City manager Alan Ball predicted "Buster will be the first British £10 million pound player."[2] He struggled to establish himself at Maine Road and was loaned to S****horpe United in January 1998 and back to Exeter City in March 1998.

He left Maine Road in August 1998, moving to Portsmouth for a fee of £100,000. Again he struggled to establish himself and spent a month on loan to Bristol Rovers in February 1999. In August 2000 he returned to Devon, joining Plymouth Argyle in August 2000 for a fee of just £25,000.[3] He was released at the end of the 2003-04 season, after spending much of the season struggling with injuries.

He joined Torquay United on a free transfer in July 2004,[4] becoming one of a growing band of former Plymouth players signed by Leroy Rosenior, others including Craig Taylor, Brian McGlinchey, Martin Gritton and Matthew Villis.

In November 2006, the BBC linked him with a possible move back to Exeter City, by now a Conference National side,[5] but the move fell through and Phillips remained at Plainmoor. He failed to appear again for Torquay and in May 2007 he was forced to retire due to suffering chronic fatigue syndrome.[6]

Daft thing is that Jessie lingard is nearer to achieving that feat ...with probably the same lack of talent as powell.was so pleased when that goal was ruled out for England other night ..would never hv heard the last of it.I can't stand the player.didn't even know he was on the pitch till he 'scored' I cannot wait til Foden knocks this clown out of the full England side .

If someone with very deep pockets, and a good team in place, bought the club tomorrow, I reckon it would be at least 2025 before they could even begin to think of being seen as a major force in game again. Their problems run that deep and they’ve fallen so far behind. Ceteris paribus, players looking to play in the PL must prefer at least five English clubs over united at the moment. That’s probably the first time that’s been the case since WW2; and there will be no quick fix, either.

The stadium’s started to like very down-at-heel and in need of a few quid spending on it too.
My latin is not quite up to snuff but is that something to do with parking the chariot?
