Or it’s just that we found a combination that was working really well with Sterling left and Bernardo right so Pep stuck with it and Leroy was a bit out of form. People read far too much into things. There’s no problem, just Pep wanted to pick the team he thought was the best at the time.

With Kev back next season and David playing less, I can see Bernardo coming inside and Leroy and Sterling playing wide again.

De Bruyne and Leroy have a great partnership. De Bruyne always finds good balls for Sané who seems to understand de Bruyne’s forward thinking. Maybe the lack of Kev this season was why Leroy didn’t play as much.
Time will tell

Was watching City v Hoffenheim again on BT Sport last night, and even though it wasn't his best game he showed just how lethal he can be down that left flank. That free kick was sensational. Looking increasingly likely that he will stay, which is great news for the club.

You heard positive news el boss man?

He wants to play......regularly.
Problem for Leroy is that City can’t guarantee him a starting place and nor should we. Dennis Tueart all those years ago in 1978 asked the same of City, knowing what the answer would be whilst trying to get his move to New York. No team can guarantee a player more starts they have to earn it. On a positive note though it does look like he might be staying, let’s hope so.

If he does end up staying, he's got a massive year ahead of him.

He needs to make that transition from "dangerous when he's on it" and full of potential to being world class week in, week out.

Because if he doesn't, he'll be on the bench again. Probably considerably more than last season if POTY Mahrez shows up.

Sky or should I say Sly pushing the German rags line that Leroy remains their top target even saying that he should push the move through, surely this is illegal practice.

FC Bayern have the entire German football establishment by the balls - a bit like Baconface did here a few years ago. They are clearly briefing out the Sane line and everyone is just doing their bit.

Like you say, the only person who can guarantee his starting spot is Leroy. He has the talent and skills that give him the opportunity to be one of the first names on the team sheet every week. If he wants it, it’s up to him to stay, prove he deserves it and the rest will follow. Fingers crossed he’s up for the fight.

Also if he is staying, I hope that includes signing a new contract. The prospect of him running down his contract another year really doesn’t Appeal one bit.

Like sky are. Unbelievable, I thought they wanted all the best players to stay in the Premier league.

They do so long as they don’t play for us. They hate Pep only because he joined us - if he’s joined the Rags, Dippers, or even Arsenal he’d be the messiah. Incredible anti city agenda across large swaths of the media - not born out of anything City have done but is an inevitable process of Sky et al blowing smoke up the arses of the so called Sky Four who lost their ’god given right’ to everything thanks to us. We have cost the likes of Arsenal millions at a time when they were probably planning for 50 years of uninterrupted CL revenues.

eastmanc, Bayern don't have to say anything at all to the press. They are just leaving it to their own players to say come and join us. So perhaps we should start to play Bayern at their own game. Even though we don't want any off their players.

So one day Ilaky releases a media release to the German press, asking Robert Lewandowski to come and join us. Afterall Robert come and look at all the trophies we have won over the last 2yrs. The following day Leroy releases another tit bit about Oliver Khan coming to City, saying more or less the same thing that Leroy said.

Interesting. Could be a plan. Imagine the uproar, they would calling out City left, right and centre.

If you think ANYONE in the media "hates" Pep then you are utterly deluded. He's the biggest "Press Darling" this club have ever had. He's eulogised from all quarters.

Ath madrid have set the barrier, if felix is worth £120m, then sane must be worth £150m at least? not that i want him to leave mind
By all accounts that was a release clause. Like Neymar that isn't indicative of his value, just how badly each club wanted to sign them.
