I'd rather we just try to keep Ota and go with 3 CBs with Walker, Eric Garcia and Fernandinho filling in.

its a easy choice to make money over silverware and titles

footballers are money driven and i don't blame them ?? and when they have kids and a wife to look after then we all would do the same thing, but manchester city are not offering peanuts and what's a couple of million of a 5 year deal when you have medals to show your kids and grandkids ??? sometimes you know its so hard to turn down and pick the money but having medals to your names and go down in the history books forever is what i would jump at

Hes definitely going to United for 75m by the end of the week!

Bonucci for 30m
Alderweireld for 25m

Replace Kompany with an experienced defender for cheap and lets move on!

Oh my God if they sign Maguire for 75mill or more and we sign someone like Alderweireld for his release clause Ragcafe will ABSOLUTELY lose its shit!

I thought we were going away from buying older players. We're not in for a short term "fix" any longer - we're aiming for young players who want to play for us, and will improve an already good side.

The future is blue, not grey.

Genuinely think we'll be alright with Laporte, Stones, Otamendi, Garcia, and Fernandinho if needed.

Then if Otamendi wants to leave next summer go out and get one of Tah, Elvedi, or Hermoso with another year's experience for Garcia.

Tah's still contracted until 2023, but Hermoso's contract runs out next summer and Elvedi will be heading into the last year of his deal.

I don't think you should nor can you buy young players exclusively (for arguments sake, players under 25). On occasion you do need to supplement the squad with some experienced heads, who are still performing at an elite level. We are already bringing in two young players in Angelino and Rodri this summer, so this wouldn't be some shift in policy.

In this particular case, I think a player of the stature and character of Vinnie leaving does leave the risk of a leadership vacuum, both on and off the field. I would be against spruiking huge money for a player 28 and above, but in the case of Alderweireld for example (I don't want Bonucci for tbf for various reasons), it would make so much sense. We'd also then be able to bring along a young talent like Garcia according to plan, so that he's ready to go when Otamendi leaves.

Otamendi would have to go now if we sign someone like Alderweireld. Id rather replace Ota with young CB.

Barbatov, Sanchez, Pogba and now Maguire- will the humiliation never end? Time we payed proper money for proper players like these instead of the shite we've been forced to watch for the last two years .
You fucker I actually started to say what the fuckety fuck you on about humiliation but then I realised.
You got me hands down.

The rags seem to be amassing a lot of British players. The limit on wage increases has been cancelled as soon as it would affect them; expect to see a rule change on the amount of British players in the starting line-up soon if they continue with their present policy. I would like to see Maguire come to us rather than the rags for that tactical reason - plus, as I've said before, having England players in our team will not harm our commercial and media profile. It's a shit part of modern football I know, but an important part unfortunately.
And if Harry Maguire or his agents are reading this - Are you serious about improving your game? There is really only one coach who can guarantee that - and he doesn't drive a bloody bus!

Having English players does not matter to sponsors whatsoever. What matters is success on the field, that will increase profile and can ask more from sponsors.

Winning the Champions League would increase our profile big time for example.
