I thought that he’d just served me at the meat counter at Morrison’s in Preston. Bloody hell, he’s been piling weight on whilst on his hols!

We would be furious if Sane had a release clause and the german rags paid it

True, but the player also has to want to leave. Does Sane really want to go to Bayern? It's not clear that he does.

I guess if the clause was low enough they could offer him insane wages to entice him.

Think it'll be announced tomorrow personally and he'll take the number 6. No ITK just guesswork. Don't think he'll have time to be announced today but personal terms are clearly already finalised if he's terminated his Atletico contract.

Atletico are bitter bastards aren't they?

Confirming it so we can't announce it first, this statement is incredibly terse as well:

(Put through Google translate)

THE PLAYER EXTINGUISHES THE CONTRACT SIGNED UNILATERALLY UNTIL 2023
Manchester City deposits in LaLiga the amount of the termination clause of Rodrigo

July 3, 2019 - 16:45

The representative of the player and representatives of the English club appeared at the LaLiga headquarters to exercise the rescission clause.

LaLiga announced Wednesday at Atletico Madrid that Rodrigo Hernandez, represented by a proxy, and representatives of Manchester City have appeared at the headquarters of the football agency in order to exercise the rescission clause of the player.

Manchester City has deposited the amount of the termination clause on behalf of the player.

In this way, the player has unilaterally terminated the employment contract that bound him to our club until June 30, 2023.

Dry your eyes lads, should have given him a higher release clause...

That seems to me to be more of a lost in translation thing rather than a bitter last...aaah who the fuck cares, we got our man.

We had to deposit the clause to the LaLiga rather than paying it straight to Atletico. Spanish media saying they refused to deal with us. Like Laporte deal with Bilbao. Often clubs pay directly to another club in Spain if they trigger clause. not this time.
genuinely didn't know they were that bitter about us going for Rodrigo to be honest!

I’m not sure about this Rodri fella. Think I’m going to wait til it’s official though before I start a proper nasty Rodri Out thread.

I was pretty sure paying a release cause to La Liga was standard, you don't pay it to the club
