Then let’s see what happens... people seem to think that the EU have nothing to lose here... they surely don’t want us to leave without a deal of some kindErr......yes.

That’s the point... if they genuinely think we’ll go WTO then do you honestly think they’ll sit by and let it happen? That’s why No-Deal is crucial and it beggars belief that many wanted it off the table...

For that to happen Johnson ( or Hunt ) need to get the EU to sit down at that table to re-negotiate the WA. I would guarantee the first negotiating move from the EU will to call his bluff - " no need to meet Mr Johnson - we have a WA deal signed by the PM of the UK and its up to you now in that role to fulfil your side of the bargain. Now off you fuck and do the biz eh? " - what does he do then? Comes back looking even less successful than Cameron his nemesis and facing immediate calls from the ERG and the members who put him there to leave on No Deal - which he knows will expose his lies and make him the most inept PM ever - Theresa May will be happy to lose that crown so soon.
No-one is taking any of the top 600 spots off Trump. No one is beating Trump mate
One of them could have shown some statesman like quality answering that question and both behaved like bluemooners . Childish
That was my point... Boris appears to be a loose cannon and therefore calling his bluff as you put it is a risk isn’t it? Hunt is playing the long game there imo. When the clown doesn't get you out by 31/10, who will look better?Robotic May 2.0
That aside he is literally campaigning to a Tory membership that wants brexit byt telling them he will tell them what they dont want to hear and might not leave.
Politically as a tactic thats pretty fucking absurd.

Then that’s when we’ll find out if all the pessimism being peddled right now is founded in truth... I can’t believe we’ll have to go back cap in hand but who am I to judge? If it happens they want us to come back on our bellies begging - which is what will have to happen.
So you’re saying we’re fucked ... it’s going to be interesting watching it pan out. Like a car crash in slow motionSaying it’s on the table doesn’t mean jack unfortunately, the EU have to believe it is. May wasn’t convincing and neither is Boris. Nobody believes he would suspend parliament. We know why he won’t say he wouldn’t do it but so do the EU.

Will Boris be leader for that GE, or even immediately following it when the Tories get fucked? No, it'll be Hunt, as a attempt to present a more moderate face to the electorate. He knows he's lost the members vote so he's playing for the job when Johnson inevitably fucks up.Trouble is its a very short game and he will lose.
Boris fails and its GE time, not a second chance for Hunt imo.

The EU, as a body, don't give a flying fuck about £39bn, that mostly would have been spent finishing up EU projects inside the UK, which would be left to rot otherwise. There is one hope Johnson asks the EU to throw him a bone on the WA, something significant enough that he can sell it as better than Mays effort, the EU still look strong, get their money and the message is loud and clear to all the other countries in the Eu.

It’s a shit sandwich however you dress it up but we’re on the roller coaster now so can’t get off...
Not necessarily. Not with Corbyn about, not with Scotland possibly leaving the union and not with the Brexit Party being a very short term project no matter what happens. Even if the Brexit Party got their seats for a no deal, they'd be out on their arses very shortly afterwards as the consequences of that action became clear and a lot of voters and members would go crawling back to the Tories and Labour with their tails between their legs.Would Hunt want it? The Tories lose an election quite heavily followed by a long time in the wilderness.
