Man City TV Launched

Amazon are firing out the fire sticks at half price for £20 but only for Amazon prime members BUT you can have amazon prime for 99p for 30 days and you can get the 50% off.
I've just ordered one, just thought I'd give people a heads up about it.

Signed up & just finished watching the four 15-minute "Fight 'til the end - The last 30 Days" episodes.
Best hour I've spent for a long time - superbly done with lots of behind-the-scenes stuff.
And Vinny's final, emotional speech to the team after the FA Cup win......fook me, what a LEGEND!!

Just checked my year-old LG Smart TV and no Man City for TV app to be found (did a fairly comprehensive search, as well).

I suppose I’ll need to dig up my old Roku from storage to see if it is available on there.

I've seen some people have installed it so have a browse back on this thread and DM them is my advice. I've one myself and will try install later.

I have it on the firestick but the OS won't accept my log in to get in to put the code in to activate it,tried resetting password, keep getting api error,i give up

It's not amateurish. It takes ages to develop across multiple platforms.

They'll use what they learn from this launch to ensure when it comes out on smartphone OS it will be further refined.

There's also the possibility they legally cannot release it on ios and google apps stores-perhaps PL has exclusive rights on those platforms.

I'm sure the club would want it in as many hands as possible!
That's what UAT is for, as someone who works in technology i think this is a pretty big failure on the clubs part and i'm sure it's one that the project (who were funded to implement this) are getting bollocked for right now.

Android tv app works perfectly even though it isn't even listed (weird) just signed up for the subscription and everything runs smooth.

I understand all that and if this first release on only certain platforms is for them to learn from it to improve it ans seeing you get 30 days free fair enough.
What they should have done is released an early access, Beta app and use that for analysis. You can't complain about Beta's as they are intended specifically for analysis to improve on the final product. Sending out a statement that there's a new app without any suggestion that it ISN'T the actual full app is pretty amateurish.

Surely this will just be an off-the-shelf piece of software that they've branded. Would that need Beta testing beyond a small sample user base.

press the home button on your handset and scroll along the option boxes at the bottom of the screen and
LG content store if your telly isn't too old .Bought mine in 2017. Once you locate type in man city tv in the search box
and it should come up.

You mean Txixi doesn't come over and do all that for you?

Txixi out.

Just signed up and put it on my firestick watching the 30 days vids.

E-mail confirmation just come through saying after 30 day trial I will be charge £1 not £1.99 a month.

will wait to see once the trial is over

I'm in the office so I've not seen the app myself, hard to say, but it's a new service they've created that would have it's own service manager, product owner etc at the very least. Beta testing is using a sample user base, we call it piloting when we release our in house apps or if we take an off-the-shelf product as you need to make changes so it's more suitable to the product you're delivering and to the market you are delivering it to. On the back of that they will be underpinning this with (assuming) cloud-based mid-tier & storage like AWS and then whatever security authentication they use, there's many variables that would need to be tested IMO.
