Away tickets

At least one plus point of the ticket collection is that if they select Utd away as one of the games, maybe some of those carrying United bags in the city section will be selected, and they will blend in with no issues at all.

Apparently, all the 18-25 tickets have been sold in the first half hour

I bought 2 for my son and his mate. They have been allocated the lower tier. That could be the place for the miserable old bastards to avoid.

You know with 150 18-25 year olds it could get messy.

It looks to me like this isn't a ballot for 18-25 year olds at all. Infact, it's a first come first served thing and therefore the same people will be able to get the tickets for each game thus taking away any "fairness" that City were trying to sought.

Can you explain how and why it will still be he same faces if it’s first come first serve?

I may be missing the point.

If it was a ballot, different 18-25 year olds could be picked for each game to ensure anybody who has applied gets the chance to get to an away game. As it is, the same 18-25 year olds will likely eat up the 150 tickets thus not giving others a chance to get one. If it's all about "fairness", then we were promised a ballot. This is bollocks

Only true if those on high points continue to attend all home games. Theres been plenty of empty seats at home games which suggests to me plenty of opportunity now to close the points gap on non attendees.

If you continue to go to home games with high points then of course your situation remains the same. However, if you had high points only to pass away tickets on to maintain your position that option has now effectively been removed, which is great news. I suspect many of those moaning about these changes are in exactly that position.

No doubt there are some fans on high points who whore their away tickets out on an industrial scale but I think you're very much mistaken if you think it's a considerable enough number that others further down the points ladder will now catch up quickly. Not a chance of that I'm afraid, and that's because the vast majority of high points holders have accrued all or very nearly all of their points by, shock horror, actually attending the away games they've bought tickets for. And because they're loyal enough to put the hard yards in following City all over the country and beyond, they'll also be loyal enough to be signed up to all the cup schemes so hardly anyone further down the points ladder will be catching up anytime soon. People have cited ticket collection at European away games where points criteria dropped a fair bit lower than expected as a reason for there being a shit load of points whores when the reality is that many of those high points holders weren't whoring their tickets out for those games and were instead helping a mate out who wanted to go whereas they were giving it a miss.

The answer to all this could've been so much simpler and that's a 5-year rolling points system.

Just

Just seems to be a lot of fuss for 5% of fans aged 18-25 being able to get 150 tickets which is nothing , nobody kicks off about how many tickets supporters clubs get or for corporate

if it was 5% of the whole allocation, that would be ok. The 150 (out of a 3000 allocation) will be coming out of the ticket points allocation. That is the issue. IT is not being sculpted out of the other groups (SC etc).
I await information to the contrary.

At the start of the season I will have 25,000 points. Like most loyal fans I will gain around another 1,000. NOBODY will be playing catch-up.

Don't understand the people saying this is a good thing as it will help boost home attendances, Have I read it wrong or has nothing changed?
You still get 190/380 points for renewing your seasoncard
You still get 100/200 points per cup scheme you join
You still get 10/20 points for each cup game ticket you buy.

I've had my 980 points added for this season for the renewal and cup schemes and whilst I'm not planning on missing games nowhere does it say, that I can see, that I will be docked points for missing a game or granted extra points if I swipe in at the turnstile so to me this will do absolutely nothing to force people to attend the home games, City don't really care if you attend or not they've got your money and can't resell the seat unless you offer it up so there's nothing in it for them.

Have you got your cup scheme points yet? I haven't got mine

Whenever ive gone away at least 30% have been 18-25 or younger anyway. You will hear them walking into the ground followed by getting drenched as they throw their beer all over you because they have had 3 pints and cant drink anymore.

Season card holders not showing up for games that they've already paid for whether league or cup should be a much higher on the agenda than the points system for away tickets and the opinion that you 'can't get a ticket due to people selling them on' - I'm sure City Matters believe that stopping points will be a positive thing for both of these issues, but it does not do anything in my opinion.
