From what I have been reading since May about this situation, his mother apparently has been leaking infos to the German press. Impossible to tell if its true or not.

Would explain why so many stories are coming from Germany on this. If I had to guess, think Leroy is being pushed to go to Bayern by his parents, who are also his reps.

My gut feeling, he leaves next summer for 40 mill and we all get on his case for robbing us of at least 60 million in transfer fees.
Not really arsed if he goes, if it was Raheem or Bernardo, that would be a different matter. All down to personal opinion but for me, if he went this transfer window for the sums mentioned we'd be geared up for the next few years. I get he is a good player but personally this future ballon dor winner, that is touted a lot on here, is not something I see.

Weren't folk on zinchenko's case last year for robbing us of 16m?

They’re persistent Bayern, I’ll give them that. Persistently underhand and discourteous, that is. Will love it if this saga ends with Sane signing a lengthy new contract at City.

Just had another look last night at all the goals from the 2017-18 season. You forget until you see it again — some of what Leroy was doing that season was utterly mesmerising. The single most exciting player on the pitch, on his day. And I say that advisedly, well aware of what the competition is. You can't train that into a player. Other things, yes: not that.
I'd be sort of surprised if he went at this point. Would Pep have taken him on the Asia tour? Shop window? Leroy Sané doesn't need to be in any shop window. Quietly confident that he'll be here, and playing, in September.

That seems to be the case and if it is, it does put him in a difficult situation. I think he's happy at City but whatever we think of Bayern, no doubt that they have a lot of pull and if his parents are pushing for him to move there then it's quite possible that his head might be turned.

I would add though that I don't think he's universally liked amongst football fans and pundits in Germany. He got criticised when he didn't make their 2018 World Cup squad plus he got a surprising amount of stick from Hoffenheim fans when we played them at home in the CL last season. He doesn't get that kind of shit over here so perhaps that's something for him to mull over if he is open to a move back over there.

Munchen are hypocritical charlatans like the rest of the ‘European Royalty’.

City will continue to mange this in their inimitable professional way and will announce any development accordingly.

It will be a big fee with beneficial ts & cs IF he’s made available for transfer and Munchen won’t be favourites in a bidding contest.

City will not allow his contract to run down though.

No more comment needed.

Could that change if Pep doesn't start him in the opening PL games?

The window shuts on August 8th for PL clubs. Yes we could sell him but we won’t be able to replace him, so hopefully that door would be firmly shut by the time the first games are played

According to German media Uli Hoeness will step down as President of Bayern Munich from November onwards. Combined with their general difficulty in signing players so far this summer (squad is quite depleted after Hummels, Robben, Ribery and Rafinha left) this suggest the place generally is in turmoil. Furthermore, their coach Kovac is a Hoeness-man. Rummenigge has always been very criticial towards Kovac, so Hoeness leaving will raise a further question mark concerning the future of Kovac.
In my humble opinion all this should turn Leroy off from moving there, at least this summer.

That would be the problem wouldnt it? Say he doesn't get much game time in the first 3 games and puts in a transfer request in the last week of August. Would we insist he stays because we cant get a replacement or take the money and lose a talented but unhappy player?

Oddly I think with Mahrez playing right through to the final of the African Cup of Nations and not being back and ready to play early will actually help Leroy - it is then up to him to retain his place.

Yeah, with Mahrez, Jesus and Aguero all being given time off to recover from their exertions this summer, I can see Guardiola starting the season with a front three of Bernardo, Sane and Sterling.

Sure I saw last night on SSN " CITY HAVE SAID HE IS NOT FOR SALE AND IS HAPPY AT CITY " .
I know I had a few beers but another lad saw it and I haven't seen it since?

Perhaps a bit off topic but it's imperative we get off to a winning start to the season. As the last campaign showed we cannot afford to lose many games. If we're not up to speed straight from the off, and drop a few points in the first two or three games, then silly as it may sound, that could be critical come the end of the season.
