Agreed, none of us know. But we can speculate based on reasonable assumptions and the behaviour of 100's of players in 100's of contract renewal situations.

And it's reasonable to speculate that if Sané had been playing as often as Laporte, then he'd be more inclined to re-sign with us, compared to the actual situation where he may very well be worrying about how much game time he's likely to get. With good reason, I might add.

Maybe.

here we go again

Villa spend over £130M with nothing like our revenue streams yet we need to sell players to satisfy FFP pmsl.

If i was God i would fuck twitter right off or at the very least refuse entry at the pearly gates to any **** that thinks posting the shite off it on here is worthy ;-)

Not aimed at you that George x

Fuck him! If he wants to stay, either sign the contract or come out & tell us he wants to go. No time at all for all these games. Said this since I started watching Gods own. If you don't want to be be here, off you pop. If you want to play for the shirt, stay! It's not rocket science.
Great player on his day, when he wants to be one. I'll be disappointed if he goes but I'll not be surprised or suicidal.
Might be the beer garden talking but that's how it is.
In our history, we've lost players, who, at the time, were far more important to this club. Look where we are now & look where they are.

its funny that this pep thing being a life after will never be the same ???

look the club back in 2013 took the choice to change things and even getting rid of a manager who just won the title and FA cup the season before in mancini ?? and in knowing the setup was for pep to come in at some stage himself, the club new the foundations was to get the team playing from the back and the keeper like in spain

yes pep was a key part and nobody can say without doubt he is a master but the club can and will go on without him

Not at the same level, in my opinion. Mancini couldn't get us to play like this and ultimately pissed everyone off. Pellegrini had us playing scintillating football but couldn't sustain it and was too nice to deal with the problem players in the squad. Neither of them has the pulling power of Guardiola when it comes to player acquisition.

We'll be great, sure, but these are the glory years and I'm loving every day of it.

That insightful comment could be a valid response to perhaps 99% of the posts on the whole forum. Everything is a "maybe" but it doesn't mean we can't discuss it, as the 564 pages would seem to demonstrate.

Your prerogative to voice any opinion you want . You still don't know whether it is correct or not . What else do you want ?

I don't understand this mentality at all. He has two years left on his contract and he has not said a single word to the press. He has no obligation to sign a new contract right now. Sane has done nothing to contribute to the media firestorm and therefore has earned my complete respect. Why does he have to say anything? Maybe he is just considering his options and doesn't want to burn any bridges? Maybe he wants to fight for his spot in this team for another season and see how it plays out?

In my eyes he has not done a single thing wrong and has contributed immensely to our success over the past two seasons. He deserves nothing but support and patience. And if he does decide to go in the end, he goes on good terms in my book.

I will give you the benefit of doubt, too much sun and shandy, utter rubbish you have written, stick to ladies pints.

He'll always go on good terms. In the modern game, since the Bosman ruling, its common decency to tell your club what your intentions are. It happened 4 years ago with Milner who intentionally run his contract down to receive a BIG signing on fee.
If Sane has no intention of doing this & wants to play for one of, if not the, most attacking team in Europe then come out & say it. If not, pack him in his way, wish him luck (not against us obviously) & send him on his way.

Not related to Sane but I have wondered. Why do Bayern, out of all clubs, hate us? I mean we never had a rivalry with them and if I am not wrong they started talking crap about us before Pep joined.

Played golf yesterday and got paired with a nice husband and wife from Madrid.

Chit chat chit chat then asked him if he followed a football team Franco F C !!

Chit chat etc I tell him I’m CITY. He then starts a sneering monologue of every piece of shite imaginable criticising us and Pep.

He kept on & on & on hole after fecking hole until at the 10 th I wound right into the twat. He got the fecking lot with salt & pepper until at the 14 he and his Senoritta walked off.

The misplaced, institutional arrogance of the dago was a joy to behold cos we’ve really gotten under their skin.

Next five holes were a pleasure particularly as I’d driven over his ‘ lost’ ball on the 12th.

All the ‘European Royalty’ hate us and I love it cos we’re boiling their piss !!

You obviously are not a negotiator

Spot on pal, well said

Great player. Potential to be one of the greats. We could regret it if he goes but if doesn’t want to stay he should leave.

Are there any UEFA rules on tapping up though? Bayern have been horrendous

We were getting bigger and a threat, then we took pep

It started long before that. From what i remember noticing, when we took Boateng and then Dzeko, they were openly grooming both (not unlike sane tbf). We went for Javi Martinez too and they had to pay more than they thought they intended to. Plus, wouldn't surprise me if there was a negative view of 'oil money' (let's call it) prejudice.
