If Leroy wants parity pay with Raheem Kun and alike I say give it to him.
1 His potential is world beater
2 We are facing a transfer ban
3 We probably only have two years of Kun David leaving
4 Better than Mahrez
5 Our future dependant on players of Leroy,s ability
I think the German rags see more in him than we do he really could be the next Ronaldo Mesie ect a real world poster boy the potential is there.
IMHO
IMO
1. Yes I agree that he has potential to become a world beater so has potential to earn world beaters wages like Aguero / Sterling / KDB etc. and he will do when he becomes a world beater and gets to start most games by proving himself indespensible.
2. We might ultimately get a transfer ban (due to young player recruitment issues) but, if so, it is most likely to be less than Chelsea's so one window at most.
3. Sane is not a replacement for Aguero or D Silva. I'm not saying that he could never play more infield, and it would be interesting to see, but he's not a replacement for Aguero or D Silva in waiting.
4. He's definitely better than Mahrez on the left wing and Mahrez is better than him on the right wing. I think Mahrez will shine this season now that he's had time to bed in (like Bernardo did) Sane has had 3 years with us but hasn't managed to nail down his spot yet . . if he does do then he's met his potential and deserves the money for it.
5. Our future is dependant upon players of ability (players who do it consistently now) not players of potential ability (players who are hit and miss and might become consistant one day).
I love so much about Leroy as a player but I see this as a situation where he's most likely been offerred a "City style" contract whereby he gets a basic plus all kinds of win and appearance bonuses. I think his problem is that he doesn't presently get enough appearance to trigger some bonuses so won't earn what he thinks he's worth unless Pep promises him guaranteed playing time. Pep will play him every game if Pep thinks he's the best player to put on the field in every game but he'd need to earn that and that's hard work - if he goes to Bayern it will be because they've turned his head by guaranteeing regular starts as their star player, not because of money.
So, if he goes then it's because his character wasn't right for our club and if he stays it's because he's staying for all the right reasons (compare that to that tool Pogba at united downing tools, hawking himself to PL rivals, dissing his club in the press and causing all kinds of grief - he make Leroy look like a saint by comparrison but that's just because Sane is acting professionally and Pogba is a dickhead).
In the interim, Leroy wears a blue shirt, never bad mouths us to the press. He's got my support right now, he'll get all of my support if he stays and he'll get a big 'thank you' and a wave goodbye if he leaves.
