Also ask the car the question of questions: "Car honey, where do YOU want to go?"

What if the rich Spanish bloke wants your car for 150k adding it to his brand new Belgium car in the left garage
but your German car only wants back to Germany?

Comparisons to houses and cars are missing the main point we are waiting for since ages:
what does Leroy want?

Some are dreaming of 'selling to highest bidder' without asking the player. I thought slavery is over?

More dross.

If he wants to leave in order to play more regularly, invite bids from all clubs then allow the highest bidder to speak to him, SAME AS EVERY OTHER CLUB DOES.

If he wants to go to Bayern because they have tapped him up, tell him he can go: when his CONTRACT expires in two years.

I feel like people are missing both sides and only looking at one of them. Yes, there are forces pushing the price up in City’s favour, but there are also forces pushing the price down. Some people can’t accept this for some reason.

So what made Real Madrid pay 130m for Hazard? When they could of give him a contract in January then get him for naught?

So you simly put Leroy and Pep on ignore then?

That’s not how it works NK and well you know it.

I’ve now been informed by a mechanic that the car will be worthless in 2 years time, a total write off. No chance of it’s MOT being extended. But incredibly, the German guy is still offering over 80k. Starting to look an attractive deal?

This is why Ferran, Txiki & Khaldoon will be more likely to sell than keep him for 2 years.
But if the car works well for the next year, there might be another buyer, a Spaniard, who will get into an auction with the German guy so that one of them ends up paying 120k

So you think he’s staying then ?

My argument is not about whether he stays or goes in this window. It’s about the price he will be sold for. It has been from the start. I only used a time frame to further enhance my point about his eventual sale price.

Like I said, it was tongue in cheek.

To answer you’re question, I expect he will go sooner rather than later but it may not be in this window.

6 No other clubs are 'interested' because we are Manchester City & nobody has EVER taken away a senior player who we were keen to keep.
7 Every City player half way through a contract can be tapped up from now on, if Sané is sold to Bayern this window.

This is what worries me.

I don't think Sane particularly wants to leave, his agents have no doubt agreed a package with Bayern but to be fair to Leroy he has been on tour and worked hard and played in the pre-season games so if Pep had any issue then he wouldn't have been anywhere near the team.

If Bayern reach an amount that we are happy with then its good business to sell but if not then he will stay and I won't be surprised if he signs a new contract.

1. He is not even a starter for us
2. If transfer banned next summer we could sell but not get in a replacement (Bayern may hold the cards after all)
3. He may want to leave (see 1)
4. No other clubs seem interested

Or
We are letting Bayern tap him up, securing the evidence and then hitting them hard with the regs.... (i can but dream - i remember Liverpool shitting themselves when Southampton threatened to do them over VVD... )

@Ric and myself have been repeatedly posting that there are different rules for what you call "tapping up" for English clubs
and the rest of FIFA (UEFA included).

That's why no English club is doing "tapping up" as it's not allowed to talk about interest for players at other clubs publically.
Well known example being Klopp/Southampton who obviouosly was unaware as a German where we don't know the English handling of "tapping up".
Me included until some weeks ago when I did my rules research.

FIFA (and UEFA) only and only forbid to contact a player without consent from his current club. That's all.
Of course that rule is rubbish, as you can contact any player via his agent or entourage or whoever.
But that's what it is.

And BM wouldn't care at all if City came out and say:
"Kimmich is a fantastic player, we want to have him at City, he would be our dream player,
it would be the best place for him to be and we can't wait to have him here."

It would be in line with existing rules (as BM is no PL club and FIFA rules are in place),
Kimmich would be honoured by City's interest and BM would just say "He 's not for sale."
That's all.

A player (maybe Leroy, we still don't know!) can only be "unsettled" by another club if something isn't right anyway.
In my view it's the player's responsibility alone if he turns his head. He isn't forced to choose any club.

City don't react on this so called "tapping up" because there is none (legally).
Txiki knows his business and the rules and doesn't react publically. Even if he is annoyed by media/twitter talk as all of us.

I posted 50 odd pages ago saying it should be10 million added to his value every time they mouth off.

So we shouldn't be accepting below 200 mil after the bollocks from this past week.

As much as BM can talk in the Press, Sane is with our players on tour and our management.

We will be speaking to him everyday and our players will probably be having a laugh with him about it as quite frankly it’s a bit OTT.

Will it unsettle him, who knows!

But, I can’t see it changing where he wants to play next year which is a decision I would think he has already made.

The problem we have is that BM are obviously getting encouragement from somewhere and Bayern is possibly a dream club for a German. I unfortunately think he will go.

It’s an issue all clubs face including elite ones and running down contracts is on the up. A key player gets to the last year and either their current club will panic and pay a lot to keep them or they leave for free and a player like Aaron Ramsey earns elite player level of income.

The way to do it is to renew at around the 3 year left part with a good increase but still in line with the wage structure and by all accounts we tried that with Sane.

If he goes I think we have to try and see if Sancho would come back, although think that might mean waiting until next season.

Sane"s silence speaks volumesi feel he will be sold he has no intention of signing a contract so its a waiting game to see what the club settles at
