A pre season schedule that includes games against West Ham, Wolves & Liverpool seems to me to be decent enough preparation for the start of an English Premier League season.
I don't think you can include Liverpool on a list of opponents when the aim is to compare who has played stronger teams, but I'll concede that playing in-league teams as we have is decent preseason prep.
As a City fan me pessimism tends to outpace me optimism.

weak or strong, being well beaten is not good for morale. I dont think City's morale would have been better than it is now if we had spent our mid-season being beaten by all the better teams.

We might get beat btw. I dont assume we will win, but if we lose it wont be because they'#ve been playing tougher opposition (without their main players)

We got a good run out against Yokahama and we looked more on it than Liverpool did against Napoli.
So I'd say we're not in a bad position and Liverpool need to use this Lyon game to up theirs.

Every scouser in work are shitting themselves, all saying we will run away with the league cos they haven't bought any players :)

Starting Alisson, Keita, Salah & Firmino in their friendly v Lyon tonight.

Despite Klopp's moaning, their core first team will have had more prep for the season than ours. Will that get recognised by the press? Will it Fuck!

Could quite easily be the other way around. Liverpool been poor I pre-season because they have put so much into training. No way of knowing

They are rushing their players back as they know without those few they are shite

Klopp ran his Dortmund team into the ground playing the same players with the high intesity until they started getting injuries and ended up in the bottom half in Germany, he'll do the same to these players whether it's this season or next who knows but wouldn't be surprised to see them implode during this season.

It could. all I'm saying is from what I've seen, we look a lot more energetic. As for the highlighted bit, they looked like they had only just
met each other, against Napoli.

Respectfully disagree. It's a clear factor.

If Sevilla , Sporting , Napoli or Lyon played 38 games in the premier league i doubt they would finish much higher than West Ham or Wolves , our easiest game was the Hong Kong team whilst they played the mighty Tranmere and Bradford , their most difficult game was Dortmund ,so not much at all between pre season fixtures , and respectfully not as clear as it appears. The fact they are playing 16/17 kids just shows how threadbare their squad is , proof will be in the pudding on Sunday
