On News Now a couple of of links are saying we sent a "Cease and Desist" letter to Bayern a couple of weeks ago to stop the public attempts to unsettle Sane. Hence why Bayern have been pretty quiet of late and apologised for Kovac's recent words to the press on the subject (Kicker,Sports Whitness etc)

You would expect Sané to play more & do more, otherwise no point in keeping him past Christmas if we don't want to use him.

Yeah sane stays he will play a lot if games similar or even more than last season just saying if he goes Foden is that good he will get close to sane stats.

His silence!!??

He is in the middle of contract negotiations & being courted by the biggest club in Germany.

His best option is to shut the fuck up!
I suspect sane and his agent know full well what contract offer is on the table. The negotiation and offer will be done and dusted from city’s end.

Let’s be clear Munich won’t be offering him much more financially, but will be offering him poster boy status and game time back home in Germany. I’m sure this is what will lead him to go, if he does, not the money.

Indeed.

So why not wait & see how the season goes before committing to a new deal ?

We did well with him barely in the team to win 14 on the bounce then.

He played plenty in that run AND had 22 starts last season in the prem.

It hurts me to say it but I agree with Bill here lol.

Sane is one of the few players we have that can absolutely change a teams game plan. They simply have to double him when he's on form, meaning other players have space.

They don't do it for Raz, or Bernardo or even Kev.

But watch Sane games, you'll see our left back having all the time in the world. (That's why Delph was even worse than most thought last season, he had the easiest position on the field).

I'd hate to see Leroy go-sky is the limit with him.

Yep we did
Bayern Munich received an official letter from Manchester City two weeks ago, requesting to avoid sharing discussions and offers regarding Sané in public. Kovač's statement on Sané didn't respect this, leaving Rummenigge unhappy and forcing Kovač to apologise.

If Sane wants to leave for Bayern and if Pep doesn't want to work with a player who is not fully committed and wants out, then what is the likely outcome? Txiki wouldn't go against Pep. It's Pep who decides what is good for the team. If it makes sense for Pep to sell Sane on the last day of the window, I'm ok with it .

We don't have all the information on which Pep and Txiki base their decisions. They are likely to know things which we don't and which they won't share publicly. Trust them.

Would you burn your bridges with Bayern, if you didn't know you were even going to play for City, or would you wait & see what happened ?

Sorry NK I think we're talking at cross purposes.

The person I've replied to believes Sané is literally clueless about his transfer because Bayern haven't spoken to him at all.

If you're asking me about what Leroy should do, I'd tell him to do exactly what he has done, sit on the fence, show no commitment to either side, lead Bayern on so they make a serious attempt to do the transfer and then you can use their bid to get a better contract at City if you can, or move there if you fancy it.

That’s a different take on it.
You may be right, that is a view sane may take, it do we really expect this season to be different to last. At present he is rightly back up to sterling and he knows it.
I suspect if he was in Sterling position in terms of game time he may well have signed up by now. Who knows time will tell. I’m off for a beer

Of Sané's 22 starts in the league last season, 5 came after January.

Think about that for a second. The last 14 games of the season, where we pull Liverpool back from a 5 point lead and then are neck and neck for 2 months, holding on to win the title, Pep only picked Sané to start 5 times.

In 2 of those games, he was hooked within 10 minutes of half time.

You say that's "playing plenty". Really?

Sane is and always will be twice the player sancho is.
We've not missed sancho one bit, lose Leroy and it will cost us the title.
Cost us the title? Dear oh dear. Sané is our 3rd choice winger. If you’d said it would cost us the League Cup I might have gone “well, I can see what you’re getting at.” But the league? That’s bollocks.
