Reading that article, it suggests that the clubs have been agreed on matters for some time. If that were true, one might have suspected that we’d have been more active in seeking a replacement/alternative. Feels rather odd that we’ve allowed Sancho and Diaz to go in successive seasons when the youngest player ‘blocking’ their progression now appears about to leave. Not saying they are compatible or indeed that this will happen.

Yes I realise all that, but what if KDB gets injured? I wouldn't want to sell Leroy when we can't replace him, even if we still have a very strong squad.Kevin was injured/out of form for most of the season and we managed to win. Pep will find a way to compensate for Sane's absence. We'll have more options with the new signings, with Kevin being available, with Jesus maturing, with Foden making the next step, etc.
Leroy is not at KDB's level yet, but he is capable of getting there.
Liverpool ended up stronger by selling their best player, and City could do likewise over time, but it may impact on this season.

I agree it won't be dead, but it will go quiet for now, since there's no possibility of doing any business after the window is closed. Come Christmas and the whole saga will start again however... unless he's starting every week, scoring for fun and decides to renew his contract.This is going to drag on after the PL window has closed.

Sane was happy last year. Sancho refused to sign and Brahim wanted to go to Real. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. I trust Pep much more than any poster on here. If Pep insists he stays, he stays. However, Pep's players must buy into his ethos, his beliefs and the one player that hasn't necessarily been trusted is......you guessed it, Leroy. He is without doubt a prodigious talent but with him comes baggage. If you know, you know. So however this plays out, it will be with Pep's blessing one way or another.

Yeah losing Sane is a massive kick in the nuts. How many times last season did we cry out for Sane to be put on as he offers something different... I absolutely guarantee there'll be a time this season where people will say "we needed someone like Sane today" if he does leave.

He’s a good player. I’d like him to stay but if he’s wanting gone then we sell him on our terms and move on. They paid 75m for a 23 year old CB Sane is same age and forwards usually cost more so if they want they can afford the 135m we're asking.
