Not being hyperbolic but Cancelo is probably a top 3 RB in Europe right now. He would be a welcome addition to any team especially ours. Offers something different from Walker going forward. There will be enough game time for both.
Gone are the days when teams had their first 11, who played every game if and when fit. The manager picks his team based on the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents. Its not about dropping players. its about playing the right player for the tactics required by that opponent.

Will be very interesting to see what happens between him and Walker. For all of Walker's flaws, he stepped up big time during the final stretch of last season and put in a great performance against Liverpool. This could be a fun duel between the two and means both will be at the top of their game.
So buy one of the best right backs on the planet and play him at left back sounds like a great ideaIf he can play LB then he automatically starts for me there.

Walker can also play at center back. He could be an interesting option. With teams that are really fast on counter. Just look at magnificient acrobatic goal line clearance.
It's all about squad spots I reckon. We needed Danilo to find a new club to sign Cancelo, now City probably wait for Sane to free up the space.I'm surprised we are still being linked with a CB. Why would we leave it so late?
And Garcia.Agreed, we don't need to buy a new centrehalf, Fernandinho and Walker with Stones, Laporte and Otamendi is perfect.
You know what I mean!Fuck 532. 352 is more like it.
Didn’t work out too bad for Andy Brehme and Dennis Irwin. So buy one of the best right backs on the planet and play him at left back sounds like a great idea

Imho i think Cancelo, who will be brought in for the RB-position, can also play RM and even RW. For LB we will have three options if Mendy gets back, so I highly doubt we will see Cancelo in that position.
Cancelo seems a complete different kind of RB than Walker. So we will play differently when he is in the team as to when Walker is. Same with Zinchenko and Mendy and Angelino.
That’s what has been so good the last few years and makes us such a fourmidable outfit. Put in whatever player and the team out there know exactly how to play.
As for Danilo, never thought he was a weak link. Very good player and never let us down. But I do like to think this transfer will make us stronger again.
