Sectarianism was the norm in Liverpool until relatively recently. That's why for many, many years it had a Conservative (that is to say Unionist) Council. Apparently you couldn't even get a job working on the trams unless you were a Protestant.

Taken with the City's powerful support for the Confederacy, it's actually quite ironic that they are now a hotbed of what passes for socialism these days. At least that's the "image". Proper socialism has nothing to do with stealing from other workers or being an ignorant thug who throws bricks at buses.

Liverpool did not sign their first Catholic until 1979 & what a player Ronnie Whelan was.

Maybe due to mass migration Liverpool struggled with sectarianism more than other areas & they certainly can’t be accused of it now but we are talking history.

So a club founded by an orange man in a city that profited & supported the Slave trade ( flying confederate flags) as the port was a transport hub between Africa & America. Likes to remind everyone that it is European royalty & part of the elite & is happy to live in a City where the police force is corrupt & dishonest when investigating incidents at football booed the national anthem as a protest to;

Mistreatment of Irish, Slaves by Royals & the elite & because there was a cover up by Police.

Well I’m glad they have their principles lol.

There just feral rats...the City itself is a fucking shit-hole that tries to portray itself as something it quite clearly is not. They consistently moan about being victimised and trade off it all to remain (in there eyes) relevant. The city and it’s inhabitants are stuck in a timewarp

They boo the National Anthem because they feel hard done to? Didn't say no to the gazillions of pounds that has rejuvenated their city.

Poor things. You would think they were the only ones finding it tough.

It must be insufferable being in the same city as these morons. I thought the rags were bad but that lot are on a different level.
they are a really weird breed for sure. if you dare disagree with them on social media etc they try to hunt you down and set up fake accounts etc. i had an argument with one the other day about the fight on the tube video. they get so indignant if someone dares challenge them. luckily i live in the south now as i used to spend most of my days thinking of if i killed one of them how could i dispose of the body and would i get away with it.

Try living in Chester where I am, surrounded by them and rags, even have a “Liverpool f.c.” shop in the middle of the city centre, night of the champions league final I fucked off to Manchester and watched the spice girls, more tolerable than being in Chester that night
i live in Chester too, crawling with the full kit wankers

I heard they didn’t like the fact there was a catholic club doing so well on their door step so pushed their rent to an impossible rate allowing for the Protestant’s to move in.

Sectarianism in Liverpool but not talked about by their fans in Dublin.
the first game they ever played their whole team was scottish. they can never change the fact that the first team to win the title at anfield was .....everton ;-)

they really are something special no wonder they are hated worldwide...…...why they booed the national anthem

1. Admitting Liverpool were a nothing club before Shankley
2. Talks about how everyone should have the chance at getting rewards but does he not understand that Liverpool were part of the group of clubs who tried to monopolise both English and European football for themselves? by keeping most of the TV money for themselves in a small group of clubs and having the same teams qualify for Europe keeping even more money between the same few clubs - real socialism that!
3. Flaunting privilege in the faces of the less well off is all Liverpool fans do
4. “going to Anfield, it’s a hospitable place” hahahahahahahahahaha... where to start? From cowards hiding behind trees+bushes in Stanley Park, jumping out, slashing the arses and hamstrings of opposing fans; to smashing windows of supporters coaches; to racist abuse aimed at black players (Tom Adeyemi and Patrice Evra to name but a few); to demonstrations where missiles are thrown at visitor team coaches; to bitterly booing Raheem Sterling...
5. Why has all the blame for Hillsborough been taken away from Liverpool fans, surely all those fans who went without tickets are 50% to blame?
6. 1989 was 30 years ago, not 40.
7. Liverpool has the oldest African community in the country because the city was built on and was pro-AtlanticSlaveTrade.
8. Fucking hell, no wonder they’re all so deluded, they’re religious too!
9. And the funny thing about all this is that about 75% of all Liverpool fans aren’t Scousers, so none of it applies to them!

The name 'Scouse' is apparently derived from some sort of meal: a kind of stew.
Which is a dish from the German/Polish/Latvian shore of the Baltic Sea, not Liverpool or Ireland.

In Latvian “Labs kauss” means ‘good bowl’ or ‘good plate’. So Scousers are bowls or plates.

Is European Royalty booing British royalty allowed?

Shankly became manager of LIverpool in 1959 shortly after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Worcester City. The Moores family had just pitched up with their Littlewoods Pools millions and it took another three years of throwing money at the problem of getting an underperforming 2nd division club promoted. They began their player buying spree including, still as a 2nd division club, paying the 2nd highest ever British transfer fee for Ian St John. They continued to buy up players but it still took a bit of time to start winning titles and cups. So don't ever let a dipper tell you that Liverpool achieved success 'the right way' with their own money because that is just a steaming pile. The Moores family weren't even the dippers' first sugar daddies either.
Ah, but the difference is that's just history.
What they've got is 'istree!

A big difference indeed.

Has the EU got an anthem?

Liverpool has done very well out if the EU via Objective 1 funding.

Which was and is still given to the poorest areas of the EU.

I think that’s where the ‘European Royalty’ title come in?

In that case, I’m going to boo the national anthem because the queen took my favourite yellow ones out of Starburst sweets & changed the name
