Watching his first interview I already am sold on the guy. Loves dogs, working hard and has ambition, what a guy! I love that our club not only signs top quality players but good human beings too. We are truly blessed at this time.
 
Also, don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this about Danilo, but not a bad return for games to trophies ratio: he won a trophy every 12th game he played!

Is that the best return for any player at City?

Wouldn’t describe us as badly needing that option when we already had that option with Danilo. Mendys fitness was always the stumbling block for playing that formation not the right side and still is unless Angelino can get upto scratch.

I really don’t get all the talk about an immediate switch to that formation. we don’t have the depth at cb for it, I’m sure dinho could do it but you’d want him as the midfield anchor for his greater mobility as I’d argue you’d need somebody a bit more mobile than Rodri to cover the gaps on both flanks in that formation, and Walker was a complete disaster there for England so no guarantee he would transition there easily.

Then you lose an attacking position which means 4 spots rather than 5 in the side for kdb silva Bernardo gundogan Foden Sterling Sane mahrez jesus and Aguero.

Not saying we will never see it but I’d guess the overwhelming majority of the games this season we play will be in the shape we’ve played for the last two record breaking seasons.

Doesn’t really matter, the increased value for Danilo is offset entirely by Cancelo’s increased price. It’s nothing more than an accounting exercise, one which I suspect is down to Juve more than us, as considering the relatively little amount we’ve spent this window it would be more beneficial for us if Danilo was valued lower.

Agree with the West Ham point. He played the full game against Spurs in their pre-season friendly, and Spurs practically changed the entire team, so he should be used to their players and, as you say, he looks a fit lad. I’d expect to see him come off the bench in that one; always nice to give a lad his debut at home.
