Leroy Sané might have damaged his ACL. He is set to have tests tomorrow to assess the damage, but he could be out for four months or even longer. [@TheAthleticUK]
If and it’s a big if someone has fucked up at the club ( medical side) surely as a precaution he should have been put in one of those leg braces, staggering seems at times the medical team keep typical city going strong ...

The English sources do not say anything different from the German, i.e. the injury might be bad and keep him out for many months. 'Might' being the operative word.

There are numerous examples to back up my assertion. Take the first 14 mins of the community shield and see how much more effective we were with Sane going outside rather than raheem stopping and cutting in.

Its likely irrelevant right now anyhow-let's hope Leroy can recover fully.

Sterling can't play on the left is outdated. It looked that way in 2017/18 and before, but as last season progressed, he became more and more effective and actually has said himself he prefers playing there. He was on the left in most of our title run-in games. In addition, Jesus has looked more than useful when he's played on the left - look at his devastating take from Walker in the Burnley away game for instance. Sane offers a different threat - and that variety is great to have. Also, the possibility of switching them mid-game (Sane has not played much on the right for City, but did for Germany this summer and looked pretty good).

What sort of source is TheAthleticUK? Also what does "might have damaged his ACL" mean. There is a so-called Lachman test that is a fairly reliable indicator of ACL tears that can be performed without equipment, so it's possible that is what is being referred to. But there are no details whatsoever, so it's complete speculation. Clearly the reporters have just rumours and innuendo or they would be providing more.

Ffs cheers George doesn’t look good then, let’s wait till the club officially announce something, wonder if any of the medical team will be getting a bollocking over this, couldn’t have helped things going up all those steps at Wembley..

ACL injuries are weird, you can walk around and feel okay for hours, some players have even played on with a torn ACL for a while. Nobody is in the wrong here.

It's what they do, we shouldn't hold it against them. They may be right or they may be wrong, either way lots of clicks.

Well it's not going to be an ACL but you're probably talking ligament damage. Maybe MCL and a couple of months out if he's unlucky.
More likely to be meniscus the way he fell. Let’s hope it’s not another Mendy scenario...
In Dr Cougat we trust!
