Indeed.I don’t think this is being received as strongly as it should be. This is absolutely paramount to the justification of pursuing a no deal by Johnson.
Not a murmer on BBC/Sky about it.

It’s not a random tweet though is it? It’s the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives telling us Congress will block the free trade deal, that was apparently going to make up for our losses with our trade with the rest of Europe.

I take any politician that uses twitter to disseminate major policy announcements with a pinch of salt tbh - it's why the nonsense trump tweets bothers me not. Not really - although I can see what you mean and why others would think that is the case
It is a question of adopting a starting point of where we are now and not where we were in May 2016
The pre-referendum world has gone - the horse has bolted - the genie is out of the bottle - and so on......
It is August 2019 and we are facing an exit from the EU - we cannot simply click our heels and wake up in Kansas
Why are we facing a No Deal exit from the EU? You can't say June 2016 is "gone" and yet claim there is a mandate for No Deal based on June 2016. If it's gone, it's gone, and we have a new starting point. If everyone agrees on that, we can dismiss the entire "will of the people" crap.

I'm pretty sure there is no one in either UK or US that would wish to see the GFA fail (not sure about DUP nutters tbh), but there are many who (IMHO) seek to politicise it for their own ends which is appalling.I'm pretty certain it's cross-party in Congress to support the GFA.
