Ruth Davidson to quit as Scottish leader of Tories.

She’ll parachute into a safe English constituency at the next election and be the Tory leader before the next one.
Its now being claimed that it’s unconnected with today’s announcement. A lifestyle choice. It will be interesting to hear what she has to say tomorrow

I find what Boris has done no better or worse than the things Gina Miller or the Speaker of the house have done in the last couple of years. It's just using the rules as they exist - it's just some only like rules (and referendum results) when it suits their argument.

Gina Miller is a private citizen who challenged/clarified something in the courts and the final decision was made by judges. That is a legal process open to anyone in this country - that is a completely separate issue to what Johnson is doing. I.e Miller could have won/lost depending on the evidence which was heard by judges. Johnson is flying in the face of evidence, is not open to debate and is shutting down the floor.

Totally different

Most definitely. You must be prepared and demonstrate that you will leave with no deal to get a decent deal. Let's be honest during Mays premiership our negotiations were pitiful. Not much more than Cameron's pathetic efforts. She wasted three years.

But we are not prepared. They know it and the UK know it - who, exactly is he trying to kid? If we do leave with no-deal we will be begging the EU for a trade deal to which their response will be ‘sure, pay what you owe and sign off on the backstop and we can talk then’

As it turns out, all we are doing is showing what a fucking mess we are on the chance the EU will sprinkle some colourful language on the WA so Johnson can sell it to the House

Taking back control, so much control.....

Yeah it’s the legal process open to anyone isn’t it.

Most people can’t afford city lawyers and queens counsel to prove a point which was a silly point to prove because all that happened following her “win” was a formal vote was then held by parliament to invoke article 50 and they pretty much all voted in favour.

I don’t know how to respond to the phrase “ he is flying in the face of evidence”

What planet do you live on. Do you actually believe that? You will be coming out with ‘they need us more than we need them’ next. Laughable.

Lol. If you say so.

Just because she has more money than me and can access better legal counsel is not her fault

Re Johnson and evidence - Government documents, dated in August, show the damage a no-deal can do yet he still wants people to believe he will go through with it

Did the requirement for a meaningful vote follow on from the miller case or was it completely separate ? However it arose, that was the real game changer

I am not saying it’s her fault. You said it is a process open to anyone and it isn’t.

Johnson wants to leave with a deal
Labour want to leave with a deal ( I think)
The eu want a deal

Hopefully forcing a real deadline not a soft floppy aunt sally deadline may mean we actually leave on the 31/10 with a deal

Parliament have spoken over and over for 3 years on this topic , we know what parliament thinks
