An interesting fella, doesn't answer my question mind.

I don't expect it will be answered, introspection is not in vogue nowadays.
I'm now ploughing my way through his Reith Lectures delivered earlier this year along with some other recent political material so I'll let you know if he addresses why the pro-capitalist right want to leave a pro-capitalist club in any of that.

We know that and the EU know that.
That in itself is a problem for any negotiations.
The idea that he's taking the EU to the brink in terms of no deal is a distraction. He's taking parliament to the brink by giving them no time and presenting a tweaked WA as a 'least worst' option so it passes. Not very ethical and rather manipulative, but it does show some undoubted intellect and leadership Tbf.

.... so why you feel asking questions like what are the arrangements post no deal brexit for UK citizens healthcare in the EU i have no idea given that we haven't left the EU yet, certainly haven't left with no deal and until such a time we have and governments both here and in the EU have declared their policies then no one knows, your good self included.

Should we wait for all of that to come to pass or shall we play your game of you posing hypothetical questions that simply dont have answers as of yet?....

...The future.......who knows and that im afraid Len includes you.
The future? 2 months.... and we don't even know if our EHIC cards would mean anything after 31st October. Or how supply chains will work.... etc etc

Hey, at least it's an ethos.

So basically he’s taking his own people for a ride?
You know this, but it’s alright?
I get it. But is this really the way you want to go.

really gonna pmsl when it goes tits up - let me have your address so I can come round and point and laugh. I'll give you a lift to the Job Centre when your job goes if you want.
Its job centre plus now mate:-

You can get ‘new style’ JSA or contribution-based JSA in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland for up to 3 months if you:

  • are entitled to it on the day you go abroad
  • register as a jobseeker at least 4 weeks before you leave
  • are looking for work in the UK up to the day you leave
  • are going abroad to look for work
  • register at the equivalent of a Jobcentre in the country you’re going to
  • follow the other country’s rules on registering and looking for work
Ask your local Jobcentre Plus if there are any forms to fill out.

Moving to a country not in the EEA
Some countries outside the EEA have social security agreements with the UK. This means that if you’ve paid enough National Insurance contributions in the UK, you may be able to get unemployment benefits in:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Channel Islands
  • Kosovo
  • Macedonia
  • Montenegro
  • New Zealand
  • Serbia

He’s in Switzerland. He can pontificate without consequence.

I am prepared to travel as long as I get a laugh out of it lol - who's to say the knock on from a No Deal across Europe won't see his job in peril whether in the EU or not? This shit is real - the Toyota shutdown is to take stock of the situation and buildup a parts stock .........exhaust that, turn out the lights and shut the door. Why not? I mean every day they make cars at a loss costs them money so just walk away. What redress would the UK and their workforce have given that by then treaties, trade deals and EU laws are gone.....

Yeah I know - I have spent some time in there over the last couple of years as jobs came and went - financial services in the UK are drawing their horns in not expanding - quite a few colleagues and former colleagues are too. Its a piss funny experience - the staff are cut to the bone and dreading the Brexit effect. But hey ho I'll buy you a coffee when you join us.

No. But it's what will probably happen. The sad thing is its the duplicity of parliamentarians of all shades and both sides of the debate that have led to this point. If Cameron had a plan or May was sincere about delivering brexit then a very soft Brexit could have been done quickly, avoiding the risks (and benefits) of a no deal or hard brexit, and BJ would still just be a comedy figure on the fringes of politics.
