They're meant to minimize lateral movement. While I'm sure there could be other uses they wouldn't do shit for say, a dislocated kneecap or some of the other things that were speculated.

Ha i had similar a few months ago,i hobbled about on it for 3 days,the bruising got scary so i went to A&E and my ankle was broken

So at some stage we will find out how long Laporte is out. All i got to say is speedy recovery. Seems we always get a bad injury to a key player of the squad every year. Last season was KDB and Mendy to some extent. This season its Sane and Laporte hopefully its the same out come that we go on and retain the title again but Laportes going to be the hardest to replace in the team.
