ha ha ha love it - now EU member states are asking why they should grant him an extension whether or not he is mandated to get one by UK law. He is a fucking husk of a PM - if I were the opposition I'd let him stick his GE until the final humiliation of being able to do fuck all about it, get us kicked out by the EU as they blame it all on Johnson then go for a GE and they can take their chances as Labour, Lib Dems, Greens and BP hoover up all the Tory seats leaving them with a standing equivalent as that of the Monster Raving Looney Party

The SNP don't in this particular incidence as they only get him up to 334 MPs, 99 short of what's needed. They're also onto Bojo's intent to call the election after no deal has happened.
I don't think the Labour Party could afford to let the SNP claim they stood in the way of an election. In any case a BoJo resignation is the other route to an election before October 17th.

Labour have made it perfectly clear they're not blocking an election they're just choosing their time. Blackford also made it very clear today that the SNP are fully on board with that. This is just wishful thinking on Johnson's part if he thinks he's getting this through.
Also resigning won't necessarily get him an election before then, Labour would still have an opportunity to form a caretaker government.

Is there any particular reason this thread has jumped up so much this evening?

Got a strange feeling that Boris will be forced to ask for an extension.
However I also feel that he will use his veto , which he is perfectly entitled to do.
Also think that Macron will veto it.
He was talked out of it last time by the Germans.
Either way we're going .

He doesn't get a veto. As for Macron, he won't veto it with an election on the horizon.
