The Labour Party

Or just missed it perhaps?

Why does there always have to be a fucking agenda???? Does my fucking head in, in really does.

Listen, you’re the one who started on me this morning and dished out insults. You cannot call my argument silly if you’ve not read it all.

Well putting aside the fact that there is some right old shite in there, which I was going to reply to later,

WTF are you talking about you silly man.

Show me a solitary post where anyone - even Corbyn's biggest detractors (and I am one) have said, "Corbyn hates Britain". Just one.

What utter muppetry from you, really.

It's a list of some good things and some bad things IMO, so I'm not sure it's worth having a wank over. Especially as there's not a chance he could ever implement even half of the stuff that appears on it.

Free school meals? Great
But 26% corporation tax? I'm not sure what that's all about. That's hardly going to appeal to businesses when it's, what, 19% now?

I see free tuition fees is still in there. I thought he backtracked on that one during the last election campaign when it transpired how much that would cost

Some prospective Labour Party policies for the upcoming election. These may be subject to change at conference

Extend £10 p/h to 16+ yr olds - no, less experienced workers who have the comforts of home should be paid less. Paying 16 year olds that when they live at home and don't pay bills just squeezes adults who do have those requirements and need the extra pay.
Extend FOI to private sector
New National care service - more info
New NATIONAL EDUCATION SERVICE - WHAT WILL IT PROVIDE?
Halt arms sales to Saudi Arabia - brave, but needs to be co-ordinated with other measures.

400,000 green tech jobs - sounds good, in what areas?

£6bn extra for the NHS
Scrap WCA - and replace with what?
1 year maternity leave - Cool, what about paternity/shared leave

3.000 more firemen
All class sizes under 30
£3bn Mersey tidal project

War powers Act - which will involve?
Transgender rights - as long as the rights of retained gender folks are not infringed or restricted and are protected, i.e. women's toilets protected and a distinction in sports classes between women and transgender women as it is an unfair playing field. Also a provision to recognise biological sex as superceding gender and protection for people who use "he/she" to identify people on basis of biological sex. Gender pronouns to be considered voluntary in the same way as nicknames.
Well being Act - nice phrase, involving?

£8bn for new schools - where from? On what?
Restore legal aid - more detail
Renationalise Royal Mail - why?

End badger cull
Free school meals - to what extent and why not measures to improve parenting which is the root cause.
Restore EMA
Votes for 16 year olds - nope.

Clean Air act - more detail
Private Rent Cap - to what extent

4 new public holidays
Leveson 2

Refore outsourcing - more detail
Repeal Vagrancy act - no. There should be no homeless people on the streets and community facilities should be provided for them.
£ibn Oligarch levy - more detail needed.

£100M for cold weather rough sleepers - again, more info needed. See point below on where I would take this.
High Street wi-fi - why, when you can get wifi in most shops/coffee shops anyway
8,000 new homes for rough sleepers - needs a more co-ordinated plan, I would rather invest in community centres/shelters with GP and drug rehabilitation access and use a "next of kin" tax to force those who should still be looking after them to take them back in and do so.
Equal rights for gig economy workers - has to still make it worth their employment.

Free childcare for low income families - more detail required on implementation and what will be provided to middle income families.

Marxist cunts

My view, a number of things I'd like to see in there as well.

Simon Heffer is a strange Journo, he writes according to platform, there i do question his sincerity.

He is scathing about the Tories in the New Stateman, he is scathing about Corbyn in the Telegraph. A case of the cap fits, i will take the readies.

They’re not mutually exclusive points of view to be fair, unless he’s being inconsistent in specifically what he’s criticising them for.

He backtracked off on writing off student debts. It would be politically impossible for him backtrack on free tuition.

Good reply, the whole point of pledges such as these is to start a conversation into the why and when's etc. No manifesto appeals to everyone as no party appeals to everyone so you use your judgement as to does the good outweigh the bad and indifferent.

Overall I think you are quite positive, as I expect most people would be as its fairly radical without being extreme and its well balanced

I will put you down a Yes :))

Apologies - it was indeed student debt. With regards to free tuition though, it would be interesting how that would be paid for, especially as more people than ever are going to university these days.

We are in a strange position with tuition fees due to it no longer being seen as an investment in the future its now seen as a debt carried forward.

The multiplier effect of a decent education should far outweigh the investment made into it. As we desperately need a multi skilled workforce with brexit on the horizon then education is needed more than ever. It is an investment made by society in the same way as investment is made on a new airport etc.

As someone who originally opposed the student loans system, I've actually come to think the current system is probably the best method. If you get a degree and it leads to a high paid job, you end up paying for it, but if you end up in a job that doesn't pay so highly (perhaps in healthcare, one that the country needs) then you only pay a part, possibly very little. Returning to a free system means everyone pays. It's the idea of having a high loan hanging over the student's head that people have an issue with, but it's not really a loan because it isn't mandatory to repay it - it's more an advance potential tax.

Some universities have invested the extra money really well, from what I can see from the outside, would that continue if the system is changed?

He despises Johnson, which of course I agree with, but he is as Tory as they come.

Yeah, and when you look at the repayment terms they're not that restrictive and the interest rate is quite low. It's hardly Wonga levels
