Carry on ignoring the reality of where we and our parliament are and are heading, it is what it is. Said right from the very first thread 3 years ago unless a soft Norway type cross party deal was agreed parliament would never allow a hard brexit or no deal to happen, that is still the case and after the next extension and or election will most likely be even more the reality. It's generally the best course of action to deal with realities, such as a referendum result that should be honoured by leaving the EU.
You mean negotiate sensibly instead of negotiating with waving a stick they’ve already broken into bits and Johnson tried to sellotape together to shake at them again?
Oh please, don't go down the MB road of moving the goalposts mid-argument in an argument you started.
So what did you vote for ? Norway leave the eu, Canada leave the EU , no deal leave the EU. Or don’t care whatever the deal, good deal, bad deal, average deal just leave for leaves sake ?It did.
Leave the EU.
I know you think that's somewhat confusing but i didn't and still dont now.
Scots will go again soon enough and it will once again be remain in the UK or leave the UK.
My guess is the SNP will think its very clear if they win.
Because it isn't a negotiation, we leave and if we keep any benefits we pay fo those benefits and adhere to the rules that go with them. You want the sat nav , ok £500 plus no cd player. You want free trade ok but that comes with FOM . Telling them you’ll leave with no deal is like telling the car dealer you’ll poke your own eye out if he doesn’t give you a bigger engine. It will catch on this sensible negotiating.
Ive just told the car dealer that im happy to pay the full asking price but can he knock a few grand off for me?
Im just waiting on his answer now...........
Not before telling them you'll poke their eye out as well (to pursue the analogy)Because it isn't a negotiation, we leave and if we keep any benefits we pay fo those benefits and adhere to the rules that go with them. So the policy is going to the EU and negotiating a deal in the clear understanding that you will put that deal to the nation against remaining in a referendum with the EUs preferred outcome being that we vote to remain. Anyone see the fatal flaw in that cunning plan? The fact that Labour have adopted this policy is hilarious and I can’t believe they are that stupid.I didn't.
Thought you was referring to a GE as that was what i was discussing with another poster before you lumped in.
Answered your second ref point.
Anything else you want to wrongly claim?

I have no idea why you thought I was referring to a GE. Maybe it was in your mind but it wasn't the point I was replying to.I didn't.

We've got 2 eyes. They've got 54. In that war of attrition, they soon win.Not before telling them you'll poke their eye out as well (to pursue the analogy)
One of our eyes is bigger than 38 of theirs put togetherWe've got 2 eyes. They've got 54. In that war of attrition, they soon win.

How does it compare with Johnson's 2015 idea of a referendum asking for a Leave vote on the understanding we'd then go back to the EU and negotiate better terms for staying in, and then have another referendum in which (having got better membership terms) he'd advocate then voting Remain? So the policy is going to the EU and negotiating a deal in the clear understanding that you will put that deal to the nation against remaining in a referendum with the EUs preferred outcome being that we vote to remain. Sounds equally stupid to me.How does it compare with Johnson's 2015 idea of a referendum asking for a Leave vote on the understanding we'd then go back to the EU and negotiate better terms for staying in, and then have another referendum in which (having got better membership terms) he'd advocate then voting Remain?
I think that what you are saying really is a version ofThe EU and ROI have consistently said that there have been no UK proposals for alternative arrangements that are close to meeting requirements. In fact there have been no formal proposals put forward at all. To think that it’s all going to be sorted out in 6 weeks is utter delusion unless we accept the backstop or agree that NI effectively remains in the EU. That’s the reality, not your trusted trader bollocks.
I think that what you are saying really is a version of
"We will not see movement from the EU unless and until they are faced with the prospect of a viable walk-away option and the political will to use it."
They want us to Remain - why would they make any move before they face a situation worse (no-deal) than just this ongoing farce.
You, BobK and other make the EU out to be some outstandingly powerful set of negotiators - TBF I do think that they have been very professional - but they have not had to do fuck all so far - their sycophants have done their work for them and undermined the UK's position throughout.
Should they face the prospect of a no-deal - we will see just how resolute they really are
