Painful watch as Lemi has a terrible interviewing technique and the UKIP guy comes across very well and measured in his responses. Wondered if any of our residents could debunk some of his output ?

Apart from his claiming that having tariffs on our exports to the EU will not affect either sales or profits then starting a dodgy lecture on price elasticity? And what was that about an automatic trade deal with the EU? Did he actually believe that when we leave we would still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border?

I understand all that you said but you really are missing the main points re the UNFETTERED backstop

Once locked in - we will not exit it for years - and during that time we will be totally shafted by the EU

We will not get an agreement to exit

I've had to explain a simple point over & over again after being quoted by someone telling me something I already know, which has no relevance to the point I was making in the first place.

I am apparently missing the point about the unfettered backstop, which is presumably some kind of fucking quantum mechanics backstop which is still in operation, infinitely, in his alternate universe, even if there is no longer a backstop existing in this one.

If we sign up to the backstop there will be no successful resolution to the Irish border until the EU have fully screwed us in the negotiations.

It's not an 'opinion' it's a fact.

If Bozo was to stick the customs border in the Irish sea, for example, the backstop would no longer exist.

It can't be 'unfettered' if it doesn't exist (apart from in his universe apparently).
