Fuck me - watching Brexitcast - Katya Adler of the BBC says the EU have no positive proposals to act on and expect that an extension request will come - what the are wondering is if Johnson will write a letter requesting one and another saying he doesn't want one plus they will get one from a UK court saying by law someone has to ask for one.......Cummings masterplanning is a **** - really looking forward to Bozo's memoirs - at this rate possibly from jail - blaming Cummings for his failure and denying he was stupid to listen to Cummings lol

Please engage your brain or this is going to be even more tiresome.

1. You mocked Johnson for the prospect of him doing a deal after saying he'd die in a ditch before doing one.

2. I pointed out to you that he had NOT said he'd die in a ditch rather than do a deal: He said he'd die in a ditch rather than ask for an extension, and therefore your comments in (2) above were inapplicable and daft.

3. I have not said Johnson didn't say anything about dying in a ditch, so what on earth are you on about???!!

You are James "not so Cleverly" and I claim my £5. You defend the clown to the hilt ( no pun intended) - I linked together a number of quotes - you have singled out one as somehow not fitting your timeline - how odd.
GPS said - Bloody hell football eh? Not in my lifetime and Wayne is truly blessed - string them together you'd probably bring one up as not being something he said that fits in with your view of him.
You are truly odd.

And it was all going so well last time I looked in here.

What happened?

Johnson surely isn't daft enough to send the second letter.

"EU ignores Johnson's stupid second letter attempt to commit contempt of Parliament"
(not granting an extension would look like they'd given credence to the second letter, thus making granting an extension much more likely).

Had a consensus been reached?
Yes.
Everyone decided compromise all around was the way forward and thought that everyone was lovely and all was forgiven.

Anyway
Good night John Boy.
Good night Mary Ellen.
Good night Bob.
Good Night MB.
Good night BI
Good night BJ etc etc

I don't know and I suspect neither does he.........we live in a country directed by Dominic Cummings and I don't recall seeing his name on any poster

Question time tonight when the panel were talking about Johnson breaking the law-

Pans to angry man in the crowd “what about the MP’s that have broken the law by not doing Brexit?”

This is the level of stupidity we’re now dealing with.
Any brief look at GE turn-outs will prove that parliament "lost the audience" years and years ago. FPTP with "safe seats", the scandals that are the norm in westminster, the rule by london for london, all play a part in the isolation of politicians from vast swathes of the public. The debates on forums like this are completely alien to half the population who are completely apathetic to politics and politicians. They know that they are inconsequential in every important way, wouldn't even know the name of their MP, still believe what they see in the media, care more about corrie and the pap that they are force-fed than "politics". This has been the reality since the fifties, it suits westminster grandees, who have every incentive to keep the gravy train rolling. thatcher benefitted by motivating "wives" to vote, not for her politics but her gender, but it was a blip, and now the word politician is instant turn-off for millions once more.
A perfect nursery for unscrupulous bastards like murdoch and dacre and the erg, to exploit the situation they helped to create. The amdram theatrics in this thread are quaintly laughable, the loyalties to left or right instantly transparent, everyone oh so sincere, so anxious to deal "the knock-out riposte", but knowing it's utterly pointless. The ponderous sarcasm, the shrill denials, the even shriller accusations, all part of the fun.
Apart from the fuckin' memes.

So we here are all agreed that Farage's "We could be like Norway" is (and always was) the obvious compromise. Except MB doesn't think it involves contributions to the EU, Farage now doesn't want it (if he ever did want it but perhaps only said it as part of his campaign lies), the ERG will say it betrays what they say people voted for, other Leavers will say it makes us rule takers not rule makers so we might as well Remain. Johnson and Gove were both in the campaign that promised we`d still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border (i.e. the EEA), but (though it was the reason Gove gave six months ago for saying No Deal was not an option) there is no way they`d now go for it. So the Bluemoon consensus will be scuppered by the fact that the Tory party will not support it.
I think if it were put to a free vote in parliament it would pass.

We all agreed we could be like Norway.

Then I pointed out that Bluemoon doesn't have the ear of the ERG and I was told to f off (smiley face).

Tbf Vic you are the left wing EU equivalent of the ERG.

Off your tits, determined to make enemies and no one listens to a word you say anymore on the subject.

;-)

He was the one behind the adverts saying we shouldn’t be ruled by ‘unelected bureaucrats. Satire has become real life!

I have always been middle ground, voting for the party that best matched my beliefs based on their manifesto. Some of my favourite politicians are Tories but Johnson’s ship and all those that sail in it are very bad news for this nation. He will try and repeat his thoroughly dishonest leave campaign to win the next election. The difference will be the enemy this time is not the EU, it is Parliament/the Legal establishment/anyone that fails to agree with him. Traitors all. He already has the gutter media singing to that tune. His behaviour yesterday even topped his previous behaviour. Thoroughly and absolutely shameful.
Think we are a divided nation now? You ain’t seen nothing yet mate.
As I have said quite a lot - I am no fan of Johnson at all.

Just found these last pages loaded with the extreme bias of the Remainers and 'leftys' - tripping over each other to be 'holier than though'.

Utterly one way and OTT - and of course utterly ignoring the provocative and inflammatory language used by those on the 'other side'

Just been a Remainer wankfest on here - jumping on the chance to be 'outraged' IMO. FFS, some on here making lots of comments are the same people often found making extreme and abusive/aggressive/argumentative posts on here lol

'Proper' middle ground people like myself and quite a few others on here, who just happen to support Leaving the EU, can laugh at the double-standards and faux outrage.

All this angst will die down - Johnson is a buffoon and will not last long - let's just hope he is inflamed enough to find a way to get Brexit done despite all the efforts and determination of the EU Sycophants and their 'surrender bills'.

Only within nations the EU has agreed with. They want the "EU project". We don't. So they can pay for it and stop asking us to contribute anything. Now THAT is one of the main reasons that a decent percentage voted to end.

But not the reason many others voted it.

And we could do much better than we are currently doing, clearly, within the EU but haven't been able to due to ourselves.

And we won't stop 'contributing' if we are in Norway's position.
