Agreed.

I am one such Remainer. I'd still rather we stayed in, but I accept this shit isn't going to go away unless and until we leave. I must confess I have also mellowed a bit in terms of just how bad I expect leaving will be. Leaving without a deal would likely (I think) but a bit of a calamity for the first week or two, and then quickly settle down to just being bloody inconvenient, costly and damaging. But significantly, other than the inconvenience and also the million poor sods who lose their jobs as a consequence, everyone else will barely notice. They'll just be worse off than they would have been. But with no A-B comparison on offer, they'll never know.
You should have been a salesman.

The UKs attempt at negotition was comepletely fucking wank. It didn't need undermining in order to fail. It was so wank I find it impossible, in practice, to see how any real or supposed attempt to undermine it could have had any meaningful effect on the outcome. As a self confessed expert in negotiaton you can surely admit this much.

edit: trying to underme the British negotiating team is like trying to do an injury to Wile E. Coyote.
I think that you will find many posts from me commenting about my views on the utterly incompetent May and the far more incompetent Robbins......

There was never a professional approach to negotiations from the UK due to those fuckwits - that does not change the simple FACTS that the Remainers in Westminster did seek and still do seek to undermine the UK's negotiating position - simple and undisputable facts

Anyway - two hours ahead here so goodnight

May & Robbins were just front of house, it's clear now the remain majority called the shots as choreographed by the EU.

The fault lies mainly with the Remainers that have served the EU through their intentional undermining of the UK's negotiations - they are found in all parties across the political spectrum

So it is daft and myopic to see this as purely a Tory probalem
Mate, you can't even spell problem.

Spoken like a true Tory.
If anyone needs to understand what modern day Conservatism stands for please read this cynical post.

If the Remain majority called the shots we’d have left by now with a EEA/EFTA Brexit with a Customs Union. It was Farage and the ERG that had the most influence and are responsible for the shit show together with their Tory government sycophants.

These are the same negotiators who are going to be touring the world signing lucrative trade deals better than we already have?

Do you really believe that nonsense? May, Robbins (and a succession of Brexit secretaries) were somehow "choreographed" into declaring red lines, Brexit is Brexit, and all the other unicorns and cakes... it's palpable nonsense.

We all know along with collusion and collaboration and surrender and betrayal it's all part of a new dishonest narrative as to why Brexit hasn't happened.

And yet, no criticism for David Davis or Dominic Raab’s inadequacies.

TBF - at the moment anything that gets a clean Brexit done is fine by me

Tell me - why are you not appalled about and condemning the colluding of the Remainers with the EU - inconvenient?
Doesn’t sound like goodwill to me mcfc.
Just call it what is.
The end justifies the means.
Right has gone out the window.
It just seems to be about winning at all costs whatever the collateral damage.

A great starting point for any amicable negotiations.

Your position on what will definitely happen now seems to change also.

Is it more important to you to be right or be seen to be right.

I see no winners in any of this and the bad faith I saw in the latest attempts of ‘diplomacy’ by the Conservative and Unionist Party has left a very bad taste in my mouth and the lack of acknowledgement by some sections here of what it truly was.
It was an attempt to pull a fast one.
If it was a genuine attempt at compromise it wouldn’t be a take it or leave now or nothing.
It would come with an extension. The clock would not have been run down.

You seem to be trying to spin it as perhaps a clever ploy to get Ireland to accept a no deal which is totally contradictory to what you expressed as the function of having the no deal on the table.
You said Johnson wants a deal.

The thing about the no deal threat on the table as I said last night. If you genuinely want a deal, you have to have a deal alongside it that the other side don’t see as worse than No Deal.

Fuck me, Brexit Party candidate on Newsnight and I’m agreeing with him.

Talking of how he’s fundamentally against Johnson for breaking the law and undermining the Queen.

Little old lady gets lied to by devious bellend. Happens all the time mate.

It hasn’t though, has it?

Major, another Tory PM, did it once to avoid going under the spot light, the coward but it’s never happened on the level it has.

So you'd be happy to remain in the EU but also be happy to lose freedom of movement?

Not totally abolish it but tighter controls and a sensible solution to curb the rising population in our country - I get immigration has benefited us in so many ways and for certain services it’s very much needed however the negative is too many people provide a huge burden on housing, jobs, waiting lists and even getting on a train! Many areas of the county can not cope with the huge influx of people.

I think it's safe to say that a previous monarch has probably been lied to more than lord snooty threw at liz. Getting one's knickers in a twist about Johnson lying to the queen is really fucking low on my list of things that i give a fuck about.

Whether you’re a monarchist or not, you surely must know the implications of lying to a Head of State with a constitution as flimsy/none existent as ours?
