Unfortunately mate with the Tories in town that ain't gonna happen.
They have already brought the country to an existential crisis as a consequence of a botched attempt to solve an internal party issue re. UKIP.
Now they will threaten anything - the Union, the Monarchy, the Constitution, the Judiciary, the GFA -that gets in their way to power.
Good story

Or.....

It just so happened that the majority of the UK voted to leave the EU

Sometimes the obvious answer gets to the heart of things

The Irish have hid behind the Eu and played bobby big balls until now . Now they know this shit is real and they are suddenly panicking

maybe just maybe they too like the U.K. could have tried harder to reach an accommodation

but I am very hopeful an accommodation will be reached If not least for the good of the mods.
Your right it’s all our fault.
Sorry.

Vintage?

He doesn't mention age groups.

Some of you have a real issue with age it seems?
I'm an old **** been around long enough to know the age profile of people who frequent Mediterranean Europe off season. He was however responding to a conversation of how people overseas view the shitshow......those with no skin in the 'game'

I think things have moved on from there. BoJo has taken a much harder line and the nutters are now all out no dealers. Mays deal was a fairly hard version of brexit with the Irish border un-solved just a problem deferred and on hold with no way out. The moderate MPs voted for it reluctantly the ERG did the same and only after the third time of asking and that was not enough - I don't see any clamor from any of them to bring that back and pass it - even with a 2nd ref. Know one is genuinely happy with it so what if it won the ref, would BoJo take it through - would Corbyn take it through.
I agree. I have absolutely no doubt that this outcome won’t be pursued by Bozo. He’s there to deliver a version of Brexit that will allow his backers to cash in and this isn’t it.

After today’s news i think the prospect of a no deal Brexit has increased considerably.

If the opposition really want to stop a no deal. They need to get their act together.

IMO A GE will most likely deliver a no deal Brexit with the Tory’s and Brexit party having enough seats to force it through. So, IMO if the opposition are to stop a no deal, the best prospect is to:

  • Call a vote of no confidence
  • Lib Dems need compromise and get behind Corbyn as a temp leader
  • Labour should compromise and agree to a referendum before a GE.
  • This means labour could actually try and overturn some of the austerity measures albeit until a GE
  • The options on a referendum should be Mays deal, No Deal and Revoke. That would at least allow it to be democratic.
Any other thoughts on how to stop a no deal?
All parties get behind the Boris deal

Then when faced with actually comprising or a no-deal the EU will move

there are a lot more mps on the opposition benches than the dup and erg so it should get through

wait it’s the tories proposing it so probably not , you know just for the sake of it
Then let the opposition parties participate in putting a deal together and they will probably vote for it.

Well they need to be more pragmatic then don’t they instead of blocking everything all the time . It’s showtime .

They probably need to be lots of things but wishing don’t make it so.

The only country that has moved on its negotiation stance is the U.K. and the EU and Dublin are going to be pushing hard to see how much more movement there is left. That will be the play over the next few days.

Irrespective of what happens there will be an A50 extension as there isn’t enough time left to make anything agreed legally operable or debate, discuss and vote on in Parliament.

James O'Brien said a couple of things.

A desirable Brexit is undeliverable and a deliverable Brexit is undesirable.

Seemingly correct.

He also wonders, if no deal is not such a bad thing, why is the PM busy playing the blame game.
Yeah - but that fella is one obnoxious tosser;-)
