Totally reliant? I think thats a bit exaggerated

Although, it'll be interesting when GB is totally surrounded by the impending EU Army, EU Air Force and EU Navy

Fight!

It was an exaggeration to a certain extent but my point remains that as an island with no physical attachment to the EU and a long sea crossing possibly being the only way for trade to move it isnt ideal and would cause huge issues.

Of course it wont come to that because its for the birds.

A deal will be done imo but as discussed yesterday, you and your fellow citizens will be the ones with the least say for now.

When will this ideological madness end

It won't.

Then one of two things will happen 1) efforts will be put in to help with the supplies and it won't be as bad as initially projected. This will result in people saying it was all project fear to begin with or 2) it happens, it is bad but then the hecklers will blame Remainers for the UK not being able to get a deal and sabotaging the UK - both will be lapped up by the faithful

And round and round we go

Those two disasters are linked and repeal of the FTPA should be a number one priority for any party that cares about our system of government. Referendums, the Farage/Bannon tool of choice, are another threat - possibly terminal - with our current fiasco the end result of one.
To hear Blair's case last night on the Andrew Neil programme for another being described as 'coherent' by allegedly rational posters on here is an indication of the sheer lunancy of the situation. It's actually being seriously suggested that a motley grouping of defeated Remainers, including the SNP, should exploit the current Tory debacle to prevent a GE and install themselves for 6 months of non-government before inflicting a No Deal/Remain choice on the electorate. That would then line up a Farage/BoJo axis against an EU sponsored leaderless group irremedially tainted by their previous tactics. So much for the future of our representative parliamentary democracy if BoJo wins and he lifts a bunch of rampant populist right-wing extremists into power at the following GE.

He wasn’t saying that though, in fact he said the opposite and thought a government of national unity wouldn’t happen.

You’re doing the same thing Neil was trying to do, which was change the debate into something he wasn’t even saying.

I'll say what i often said during the Indyref.

The biggest success of the politicians leading the campaigns, and the media,
is convincing us all we are experts at absolutely everything.

The economy, markets, industry, the price and amount left of oil, the stock of bricks, negotiating methodology, etc etc etc..

Im British by the way...i live in Belfast...the UK...im not Irish :)

Ireland is an island with lots of ports.
A ship sailing from Rotterdam would take less than 12 hours more direct than via Great Britain. Post Brexit it will be even less due to customs checks.
Ireland is nowhere near totally reliant on Great Britain as a land bridge.
It'll be shit all around. North and South.
But we are in the process of sourcing goods elsewhere and looking logistically at other methods.

Not surprised by that in the slightest. Exactly how many brexiters seem to want to see it.

Sense of humour failure.

Not surprised as it feels exactly how remainers want to see everything....doom and gloom.

2016: Conservative Party :- Eu citizens will have the exact same rights as they have now

2017 - 2018 :Conservative Party :- Stop Scaring Eu citizens with project fear ..... Nothing will change!

2019 : Conservative party :- Deport the f*ckers!

And the sheep keep saying that Brexit isn't about immigration .....

Baaaaaaaaaaaa

The irony of being called sheep from someone who peddles the word of his supreme leader in almost religious fashion isn't lost either.

Of course me saying that is fucking childish and uncalled for.

Ahh just 12 hours more from a poster who says 5 mins delay at one of our ports will be a disaster.

Look if they want no deal then they can by all means do the long sea crossings but i dont think they will and that a deal will be agreed.
Or Scotland could leave the UK rejoin the EU, similar in NI.
Create a landbridge through Scotland & NI to the North and import through Cork and Rosslare to the South.
Still far from ideal, but think of the jobs going to the North and Scotland in the development of Stranraer/Larne/Belfast and Edinburgh or wherever on the east coast.
Admittedly its a long journey by sea from Rotterdam to Edinburgh, but hey who knows what's coming down the line.
Ok it's just an idea off the top of my head and probably pie in the sky, but....
Probably not as daft an idea as putting a gun to our heads and saying if you don't come up with something we like we'll blow both our brains out.

I think something will be agreed whether it’s a full blown deal or just a statement of intent/ heads of terms.

I still think there is too much petty politics in parliament and people will still try and block it though. We have managed to agree something before with the eu and it was parliament which was the problem

Fingers crossed , let’s hope it we can get something through.
If only the EU's sycophants at Westminster had not completed their undermining of the UK's negotiating position with the surrender act

Goods will continue to move through the UK between Ireland and the EU.

I will put my life on it.

I will wager you are the only one who thinks it wasn't.

Clue... ;-)

Maybe i am. i fully expected the reply as well, humour is so often used as a veil.

But look, i do apologise, for what i do trust you i am wrong about. i'm being genuine.

I stand by my point though, many do indeed want to see it that way, i doubt you would deny that and we would likely bith find it equally unfortunate.
