Logistically we may be very reliant, but our trade is not nearly as reliant on Britain as NI, who will be hit very hard.Totally reliant? I think thats a bit exaggerated
Although, it'll be interesting when GB is totally surrounded by the impending EU Army, EU Air Force and EU Navy
It's one of the reasons that NI business are so against the current deal that Varadkar and Johnson are supposedly discussing.
A lot of your trade with Britain is dependant on either supply from the south or some element of the production line, before you ever get to export a product to the mainland.
This could see the dairy industry collapse and the culling of cattle and the abandonment of the land, is one forecast I have seen.
The North really is being sentenced to a maybe not so slow death, in many sectors.

I stand by my point though, many do indeed want to see it that way, i doubt you would deny that and we would likely bith find it equally unfortunate.

I don't think it will happen BI but the border between Scotland and England would not have the GFA to contend with. It would not be exactly the same situation.oooh the border question again ;-)
Something tells me the way the SNP have behaved the last 3 years those negotiations will make the NI question seem as easy as 2+2= ;-)
It would basically be a border between the EU and UK without the NI issues.

Listen - we have gone from sunny uplands to "hopefully it won't be as bad as all that" - how long after No Deal do we start having Leavers saying its not too bad because the body count isn't as large as some had predicted? Fucking insanity prevails in the cult of Brexit

Apparently all the issues the SNP have found with a border between the UK and the EU will suddenly disappear.
It wont need to be a hard border and nor will any customs checks be needed.
Hell they will also continue to use our currency and central bank.
Now dont get me wrong i find that attitude eminently sensible and everything should be done to facilitate it happening because we are neighbours, not enemies and have a lot of trade to protect and it just needs agreements to be made.
Unfortunately for the SNP they have pissed on their own chips and can expect no favours if they go it alone.

This is why I said I doubt it would happen, but those in Scotland may offer more local knowledge on that subject than I can offer.

I know all that, and it stinks. Why can't they give 1 billion of their 40 billion (a guess) to their workers? Cos they're greedy bastards is why.Because like most companies, they will be willing to pay a going rate based on location, skills and the industry and that is that.
Anything else, if forced and they will close the plant and produce elsewhere. Seriously the plan for seats on boards and shares to be given etc is pie in the sky from Labour and not based on any reality of what business will accept.
As it happens i know of 2 local firms that give employees shares and seats on the board. One recently paid out on their shares and a friend received over 130k. How it should be.

As it happens i know of 2 local firms that give employees shares and seats on the board. One recently paid out on their shares and a friend received over 130k. How it should be.
We have a business in a sector that has a large company that works in a co-op fashion.
Every employee earns the same, over £24 per hour and when i say every i mean every one of them from the cleaner to the MD.
Best still roles are changed and everyone gets to be the cleaner and everyone gets to be the MD with a culture of help for those that needs it in roles they might be struggling with.
Recruitment is done by a vote and anyone they feel is no longer fit for the business is only let go after a vote.
I have to say it works for them as they a hugely successful but it is in a sector that lends itself if i might add and still has me scratching my head as i would never run my business like that.
Call me a selfish ****, i dont care i just wouldn't.
