Well, we haven't left yet, so...

What exactly are you meant to have "felt", or is this more "emotive" language? FYI, it's wasted on me.

My biggest client has postponed the opening of their new 1400 person London site, that I’d be populating with candidates but more importantly, would be giving jobs to 1400 Londoners at all levels.

Even if they do it next year, that’s still a year’s delay on employing so many people.

That’s just something personal to me, that has affected my income and my performance this year.

Why?

What has forced them to postpone?

Is that an honest question, or sarcasm?

Happy to chat about it if you are genuinely asking. Not up for facetious dismissiveness though, we can save that for more generic rhetoric.

But facetious dismissiveness is my forte :(

The opening of the office is linked to them needing a London office, because they’re floating part of the business.

They’ve tested the water and unfortunately nobody is investing currently and therefore they have postponed indefinitely until the market has picked up and there’s interest.

They’re not a tinpot outfit either so there should be a lot of interest in them, as they’ve significantly grown in the last 5-8 years.

It’s directly affected my pocket but that’s not the main issue, it’s the fact that 1400 people could have found new work there, paid tax etc.

They would need to hire everyone from the cleaner, customer service and admin staff, all the way up to Director level and in between.

Did you just assume (or non-assume) my gender?

What else is brexit responsible for? Can I blame it for my low hours? Poor pay? VAR?

And there you go. glad i didnt bother replying. Ben-jani was naive enough to believe you might give a serious issue a bit of credit and consideration. disappointing.

And that kind of thing happens right across the industry, up and down the country (the UK for clarity). Brexitrers will dismiss it, but that is wishful thinking, like any other real concern related to brexit.

Why not Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, etc?

Why is London so crucial to their plans? Why are they not using other regions of the UK and providing jobs and services to these deprived areas? I have zero sympathy for any Londoncentric business models.

Oh get a sense of humour, why don't you. Have a few laughs once in a while.

I don't remember you on any other brexit thread, commenting. Tell me, why the sudden interest?
(or don't, up to you)

You have to have a London office if you’re to float on the stock exchange - there’s no choice about that.

Their other offices are spread across the country and their head office is West Mids.

Edit- also to add, London is incredibly expensive for office space and the likes of Manchester are hugely benefitting from being cheaper. Manchester booming economically and has been for a few years. They just need to clean up the city centre and fuck the druggies off now.

Or treat them, perhaps

And they're blaming brexit (which hasn't happened) for their lack of investment, not other factors?

I don't understand then, why they would need a London based outfit, of 1400 people, just to qualify them to float on the LSE. My own company (by that i mean who they work for) Has their HO based in Manchester, and they trade on the LSE.

Sudden interest in what? do you think i've not noticed brexit, or the indyref up until now?

I'm all up for humour. Even attempt the odd funny myself at times.

You want to have a laugh at the expense of things that affect my life, go right ahead, but theres a world of difference between mocking general opinions/rhetoric (i do that too. Some we have even agreed on if you havent noticed), and specific ones that actually have had an impact. You've already decided it nonsense, so not much point discussing in good faith. Credit to ben-jani for trying.

Believe of that what you will, or don't.

Mate, you just ignore stuff you don’t like. You asked me 5 reasons why I voted to remain. I gave you one and then you tell me it’s not what we are talking about? Bizarre behaviour.

You try and start another argument about Scotland that we had a month and a half ago. I understand your logic but your conclusions are based on your own opinions. That is perfectly valid but my view of the Scotland situation is far less ‘certain’ than yours. Bloody hell, you even dismissed the impact of a Johnson win at the next GE on Scotland if I remember correctly. We agreed to disagree. Do you really want to go through the whole thing again? For what purpose? Showboating?
No - I was hoping you would not evade and bring forward things of substance, such as the examples as the sorts of examples I gave earlier.

The purpose ?

I guess to prove that there is a load of inaccurate stuff from Remainers on this subject - they have made 100s of posts about the impact of the UK if we leave the EU - and clearly the majority is just plain wrong.

Curious that Remainers just run for cover - not aimed particularly at you - rather than debate the subject. That suggests that there is likely a good reason

I don't know you, pal. I don't know if you're spoon feeding me bullshit to further the woe to remainer narrative or have genuinely been affected.

I don't wish ill on others, hell I hope that if it's true, your fortunes turn around, but after three years of having my own situation mocked and belittled by remainers on this very topic on this forum, you might forgive me for not having the same level of empathy when I hear others giving their own personal accounts of their troubles associated with brexit.

If my circumstances were deemed laughable or throwaway by the remainer experts on here, why am I not allowed to dismiss others in equal measure? A perfect example of how the narrative of brexit has become toxic, and for me the best remedy is humour.
