You were stating that in your opinion Ireland were not the victims of GB/UK bullying and then inferring it was perhaps the opposite....i used a ROFLcopter gif, cos im frickin hilarious and I think its a much simpler explanation than your LOOOOONG detailed version.

Its just pay back for 300 odd years brutal oppression.Or sumfink.
Ha - I see

So whilst I have lots of empathy for the past travails and would understand centuries of resentment - TBF I was making some factual statements with regards to the here and now - last decade or so.

So - from this post - I at least take the view that you recognise that I was indeed speaking about here and now facts - despite our both agreeing about centuries old well-justified causes of grievance

A fair point - but i think it will be a softer deal andtherefore not sure they will all get on board. And the DUP wont like it. So even with all tories and some labour and some of the indi tories I still think this fails. The choice is this or an extension. So it could be this subject to a 2nd ref and an extension to accomodate it, that might well be the outcome. I will take that.
Sorry

there is simply no deal softer/more detrimental to the UK's interests than any deal that contains the unfettered backstop

So if BoJo has succeeded in getting that removed he has done the UK a great service

Some titbits...

Bump into DUP MP Ian Paisley Jr. “What’s going to happen?” “I don’t know, not a clue.” “Johnson will betray you.” “Yes, the English always betray the Irish, don’t they.” @DenisMacshane

Not a happy bunny

Look how the tiny bowling ball tries to power walk and assert his authority, he’s about 5ft 3, the little gimp.

He is just a wanker I would love to run up behind him and boot him right up his fat arse.

That’s not been the debate , the benn act or Gina gee. It’s been all about an absolute objection to no deal.

If we get another deal and they vote it down a lot of the public will not be happy when the election comes

Remaining v leaving has not been the basis of the debate in the last 6 months it’s been preventing leaving with no deal but I just know if and when the deal is presented to the house the narrative will again shift to actually we want to remain. That’s my fear.

First things first. Stop no-deal. Let’s say that has been achieved so review the new ‘deal’ on its merits - if it’s not good enough then it should be voted down, surely?

I wish it was being reviewed on its merits but I feel a lot of them have engineered this. They won’t vote for any deal. It’s too much fun bashing the Tories.

If not fun - easy. The Tories have spent a number of years steering their path into this situation and its well deserved.

Francois is pissed off because the Brexit he is facing isn't the one he has spent 3 years calling for and peddling - he wanted and expected the 2016 version....all the benefits of membership with none of the obligations and costs - he wanted compromise....all on the EU side and now the harsh reality hits he is like a big fat child.

What, you mean Brexit doesn't necessarily mean Brexit? And aren't the EU in the process of caving in faced with the prospect of no deal?

I suspect Francios will be cancelling an order for 25 BMW's and 18 Merc's as the German can manufacturers aren't going to ride over the horizon to help him realise his wet dream.

“With the departure of Great Britain, a potential competitor will of course emerge for us.
That is to say, in addition to China and the United States of America, there will be Great Britain as well.”
Angela Merkel

No subtlety there - the lines are being drawn.
