I think the DUP overestimate their importance. 10 votes is of course still 10 votes, but as the Tories are so divided and many leaving/ losing the whip has slashed their slender DUP reliant majority in parliament. It's probably more critical now that any deal finds favour with a decent chunk of Labour MP's than the DUP in order to get it through.

And the SNP for one are lapping it up.

Something just doesn't sit right with offering NI vast piles of money, especially via the DUP; perhaps I'm drawing too close a connection between such an offer and the reason why Stormont hasn't sat for so long. The DUP also faces a dilemma, take the money and profit today, or be seen forever as the one who cast Ulster out of the UK's orbit and into that of the EU and the Republic. It's much easier being a small party making a lot of noise than being a small party making momentous decisions.

If Northern Ireland is deemed 'dispensable', then another link in the Union is arguably weakened.

Not sure deadlines and rushes for deals to save face make for good governance.

As long as any crap deal is part of a confirmatory referendum with Remain then I could live with that.
Remain must not be included in a confirmatory referendum about what sort of leave deal we want. "Leave by remaining"? How is that an option to leave the EU?

What money has been offered and how much?

We should have a Scottish independence thread where you can discuss them as much as you like.

Geezo you are petty this morning.

Am i wrong? is it irrelevant to brexit?

Or do all remainers just need disagreed with and goaded at every turn.

It was critical btw, if you failed to notice that, as my views arent as binary on issues as yours are.

Sorry, I was inferring from something I'd read yesterday that both the UK and EU would look to pump money into the island. Apologies if incorrect.

No dont apologise mate as that has been the rumour.

I thought news had broke of how much they had been offered and i had missed it that's all.

Your posting style is incredibly similar to someone else on here.

Happy to have a confirmatory ref to decide how we leave so deal v no deal.

We have already established that we want to leave.

As I have said before, that's what should have happened after the vote to leave. Here are the realistic options for leaving, take your pick. That way both leavers and remainers could have had a say in how we leave.

We have already established that we want to leave.

We've established that what we think we want is unachievable.

The question is between what Can be delivered, vs what we have currently. No-deal has never been on the table, there is zero mandate for it, and forcing it by the extrimists frustrating brexit is undemocratic.

I'm glad you have established that.

Do yourself a favour and dont include me in that.

You? I agree. I've said that before, we are quite alike sometimes. Relax a bit (i know that sounds condesending, but i'd take it from you with good intent).

I’m away so haven’t seen the news. Has he 1) struck a great deal for the whole of the UK or 2) accepted something that not British prime minister could ever accept? Or 3) neither?
